I agree! I don't understand at all why someone would remove the sound tube. Are you taking both baffles out or just the interior? I wondered about exhaust oder/fumes getting into the cabin with both removed.
Why would you do that? I'm not trying to be a jerk, I just don't get the benefit of removing it. The whole point is for enhanced cabin sound (which it does well IMO). Is it for aesthetic reasons?
yeah maybe someone can come in and shed some light on this. why would you NOT want to hear your engine in an sports car?
And there is no way that any fumes could enter the cabin by removing the baffles, the diaphragm seals off the cabin from anything other than sound from passing through.
And as an interesting note, I just read an article about the new 911 Turbo and it has a engine sound transmitting device to pass the engine sound to the cabin on it too!
I just removed the baffle at the firewall, they do get a little raggedy and obnoxious with both baffles removed.

Nope, just pinched it between my fingers and pulled it out, it is right at the end of the tube sticking through the firewall.
