Finally got a free day to paint my calipers
Finally got a free and slightly cooler day. Spent $18 on a Dupli-Color Caliper Paint Kit and splurged for a quality paint brush (a necessity).Took one wheel at a time off to paint the calipers. It was easier that way, but made for a long day. Put 3 coats of paint on each caliper. Results came out pretty good, but not perfect. Started getting sloppy as the day went on due to the heat and tiredness.
Anyway, the wife walks by the car and makes one comment: "The paint doesn't match the rest of the car." I went for the blue theme.

Looks good! I like that blue on them. You should paint the car to match...
/Brakes are comin' up soon, when I do them, this will be done as well.
//In my insulated and A/C'd garage!
///Did it myself. I'm proud.
////Yes, there is respirator to be worn, I ain't totally stupid...
/////I do worry about blowing up... but it didn't when sprayin' the paint, so I think it'll be ok...

Thanks for the comments. I was the only sucker out there in the heat of the day. It was a ghost town outside later in the afternoon. As for the color, the paint darkened today. It's not as bright as the pics show. I am somewhat stiff today from all of the up and down and rolling on the ground to get all the nooks and crannies of the calipers painted. lol

I used the red to match my body color (Race Red). I can say that the caliper paint is good stuff. I've had it on the calipers now for over a year, and it still looks great. Only did one minor touch up. The kit I bought had a can of the paint, a brush, and a can of prep cleaner. The prep cleaner is good for maybe 4 calipers, but the paint is good for 3 or 4 cars worth of calipers!

The painted calipers look great! I painted the calipers on my 2011 V6 with the red color - car was Race Red. It looked great until I took the car to the track at Carolina Motorsports and ran 325 miles in a couple of days of hard driving. When the rotors really got hot, the paint turned dark and began chipping. A month later I cleaned prepped and repainted the calipers. As long as I was doing normal city and highway driving, they looked great.
Thanks.
The red calipers are looking good. Matches the car well. Good to hear about the durability. I may not have to worry about that. My car may have driven it's last miles earlier this week.

The caliper paint is Duplicolor....

It isn't a perfect car paint match, but it doesn't "clash" with the Ford Race Red paint.
