Fair price for Alcoa/Super Snake wheels?

Hey guys. I really love the Super Snake wheels and I know they have been discontinued. I search ebay for them everyone once in a while, and usually they are $1500+ EACH. Is this pretty much the standard price people are charging for these wheels? Has anyone seen them sold for cheaper (since being out of production)? I keep holding out, hoping I might see a set $1000 or so each, but I want to know if I should stop checking for a better deal. Yes I know every once in a while, things sell on ebay for stupid cheap, but I'm wondering realistically..

Thanks

I ran across these yesterday looking at other items.

Those are some beautiful wheels. It looks like they have them in stock too.

no way those are in stock. they ship from shelby america who is out of stock. you can usually see sets come up on other forums for around 4000-4500 once in a while.

how much did they sell for when in production? And why on earth did they stop production?? Do they not want people copying the super snake design? I'm hoping someone will be able to legally make replicas of this...but it will probably be YEARS from now. It took them like 8 years to get GM ZR-1 wheels on the market...

I think they were 3200 a set new. there is currently a set on ebay new in the boxes for 4400 or so. not that bad of a deal considering.
