Create quad tip from single tip muffler

I was throwing around the idea of quad exhaust. The only issue is that I love my S Types, and don't want to spend $1K on quads just on sound. Has anyone thought about welding on an extra tip to make it work?

StangMods has tips that supposedly work on any single tip axleback. Stop by your local exhaust shop. They should be able to make or order tips that will work.

Is that what you're talking about? That might be feasible. $430 for the conversion. Not bad!

Does anyone think different tips would change the sound?

There was another member on here that had them. I'd do some image searches...sometimes they look good to me, sometimes they don't. I'd still check your local shop. My exhaust guy can get some very random stuff and is pretty handy, so he can modify them to work too. I'm thinking about going back to him to have some different tips put on my car. I'm still not 100% happy with my prototype Solo tips, though I love the sound I have now. Their final ones are supposed to be better fitting, but I am actually thinking about doing a large oval tip, a la Shelby American GT1000...

I bought the GT500 axle backs with quad tips for $200. Granted, I stole 'em at that price, but they are available for much less than $1k.

Hey guys. Yeah I have the tips for sale. They will work with whatever mufflers you have, you'll just need to have them angled a little different because your single outlet muffler will be off center

Thanks everyone for your help. Unfortunately, I think this idea is dead in the water. Turns out I owe Uncle Sam some money.....no mods for me.

If they are the tips from Stangmods, then you should use them with a center outlet muffler. I have them and waiting to get installed on new Borla center outlet mufflers. The last review on the page was from me and the description of these on StangMods should be updated.

If you try to put these on the stock GT500 valence they won't fit with the offset mufflers we have.
