Crappy Day with the car. Need some advice
Alright so I'm throwing in the towel for today. First part of the day was washing the car.. Turns on that I HATE YOU WOODRIDGE AND DOWNERS GROVE!! Those of you that live by me know why. The construction and new pavement has literally left the entire car covered in tar. I spent two hours with some removal spray and 4 tar covered towels wiping off the ENTIRE CAR. so okay the worst is over. I wash the car and do a quick cleaner wax over the car. Nothing special as of now, but the car is back to beautiful and clean. I remove my 5.0 badges to replace them with the AM gloss black 5.0 badges. Turns out bad *** in my opinion. HEY the day is turning around. I might as well remove the faux gas cap and custom paint it while i have the extra time.. Silly me not paying attention, and I do this:
I was using a towel and flatblade to try and break it from the glue, and knicked the vinyl stripe....
Question/advice is, what can I do? Is there a way to fix this or do i need to order an entire stripe kit? Can I order just a section, and if so, who can put it on for me?

Instead of ordering an entire stripe kit, I'd take it to a body shop and see if they can cut you out a piece of material. It seems like that would be cheaper. Then again, if you order the whole kit, if something happened to another part of the stripe, you'd have the strip to replace it. I haven't priced stripe kits, so I'm not really sure what the cheapest option would be.

The pic loaded. Yes just take the car to a good body shop and they will either hand cut that piece or order it separately.
The good: you only nicked the stripe and not the paint
The bad: they will have to pull your faux gas cap off again

There's actually a good write up on AM for removing the gas cap. One pass with fishing line until you hit a bolt. DON'T saw it like I did!
Then a plastic spatula in the top of the cap and a good bonk. Have a buddy hold the gas cap because it will fall off pretty quick after you bonk it.

There's 2 actually but they are more like a metal bolt that snaps into a plastic retainer. no worries, theres nothing to unscrew with a screw driver. However you can lose a retainer in the decklid like me.
also some really tough double sided tape that's die cut in a circle. You will have to replace the tape once the cap is off.

^^^ ford wanted 147.00 for just the small section. F. That!! I found a local graphics shop that is a vendor on a local mustang forum to do it for 80. Going to them this week.
80 is still steep. Does that include instal?
Have you tried the bay? There's guys that will cut that piece for like 20-30. Btw it's the same material and vinyl that ford uses. Sans the hefty price.

Honestly how I do it is just use some flat black automotive touch up paint on the tear spots on my stripes. Works just fine for me.
Might have to practice though, that is unless you like huge spots of bubbled paint lol.
