We designed our duct to work with other manufacturer's cold-air intakes and we also have designed a ram-air kit of our own. We are very pleased so far with the results that our ram-air kits have produced and we will gladly post testing results as soon as the kit is released.
Well, I guess we'll see, won't we. I know, I'm cynical.

So are you saying that the duct itself can be purchased separately by people that have other CAI's? It looks like the duct requires the use of a CAI of some sort.

Yes, the duct was designed to work with other manufacturer's cold-air intakes as well as our ram-air kit. If the vehicle had a factory air box and intake setup, it can not benefit from the ram-air duct as the box is closed off from the engine bay.

Of course and no where did we state otherwise. The owner of the Boss is a good friend of ours and has been a customer of ours for years. We are sorry to hear that you have a negative opinion towards us, but we do our best to provide our customers with quality products that perform and fit as they should. Sometimes product development can take time and set-backs do occur, but we are committed to only selling products that we are 100% confident in.

Cervini's, do you guys have a time line for any other hoods for the 13'-14'? I like the Type 4, but I would love to see how the Cobra R or other cowled hoods will look on the 13.'

Do you have a date? Since it's March, I figured you guys should be able to come up with something less nebulous than your standard answer of "four-to-six weeks".

Other questions:

0) Is the duct itself going to be sold separately from your CAI?
1) Is your CAI going to require a tune?
2) How much money are we talking about?

Well, we're a week into March, and I have seen so much as a "coming soon" mention or pre-order offer of the promised ram air kit. It's looking like it's just more of the same from Cervini...

Do you really need a ram air kit that bad?

You should see my engine compartment after having to drive in the rain...

I've actually found rocks and small bits of shrubbery on top of the engine cover, and freakishly large bug splatters on the back of the hood (a diagonal panel that spans the engine compartment and says "CERVINI" on it). I would be happy if they even made something to simply block off the hood scoops but they don't make anything like that either.

With all the construction in progress on seemingly any path I take to work and back, a dry week leaves a significant layer of dirt and dust in the engine compartment. I don't mind washing the car itself once every week, but having to also do the engine compartment every week is long past being just a bit annoying.

As you can see, they've resorted to their usual tactic of not answering any questions. It's not like I'm just shopping around - I actually paid for their hood, and have been given the run-around on the ram air kit since last April (as have others long before that). So far, I've heard "4-6 weeks" FOUR TIMES (the first time was last April), and the last time was September. Here we are six months after the last time I talked to them, and they haven't said squat.

I'm holding off buying anything else for my car because I want this first, and I don't know how much it's gonna cost (and everything else I want to do to the car - drive shaft, CAI/tuner, gears, brakes, roll bar - is expensive). I really do wish they'd release the thing so I could STFU about it. I'm sure you guys are tired of having to hear about it, and I'm d*mn sure tired of complaining about it.

Lol. I see. Yeah it's kinda weird they haven't made one yet.

Here we are, mid-March, and still no mention ANYWHERE on their web site regarding the 2010-2012 Type4 ram air kit. And yeah, I just checked.

It's looking like more of the same from Cervini's. Only one week left in March, and still nothing.

I'm just holding their feet to the fire. They said March, and so far, nothing. Notice how the Cervini's guy has stopped responding, too.

So, here we are, into April now, and still nothing from the Cervini's rep. I even sent a PM last week, and he didn't respond.

If this is how they treat their *existing* customers, I would sure think twice about becoming a new customer...

So, I've started a search for a local fabricator that can fab up a simple aluminum duct for the hood. If any other Type4 hood owner is interested, let me know, and I'll inform you as to the progress of my search/results. I have no idea how much it will cost in the end, but I suspect that the more people we have that buys one, the less it will cost.

My plan is to simply have it dump out where the factory air box is, and of course, you're going to need a CAI to actually make use of the "ram air" effect. At least the entire engine compartment won't get trashed when it rains.

For grins, I called them a few minutes ago, and I'll give you three guesses as to what the customer service guy said...

"3 to 4 weeks"

Truly pathetic.
