Carbon fiber hood vents.
I wish I liked Carbon Fiber more than I do. It seems like that is the cosmetic Mod format anymore.
I just can't seem to get on board with it. It's not a look I like and it is way too expensive - although I understand why. I have seen how it's made, and it is a long process.

Exactly...but it's not like the oem design that snaps into place. It also has no mesh covering the vents like the oem vents. I'm debating on these or getting my oem ones hydro carbon dipped.
I would say 90 percent of all exterior mods are pointless. I would also say that trying to make your car as fast as possible with no actual reason behind needed the addition power is pointless as well. Same goes for people who drop thousands of dollars on a track suspension, and they see a track twice a year. There is no functionality in modding mustangs unless you professionally race them. So lets not get carried away with what's pointless or not : )
I like cf on black, gray & maybe silver but looks weird on most other colors a lot of times unless you get creative with paint or something to set it off. Just a cf hood on a red car for example doesnt look as good as body color IMHO. Even on dark colors I like to see hood edges painted to pull it all together. I could see blacks stripes with cf vents or something like that.

Yeah I know what you mean. I'm going to go one of two direction. Keep my carbon fiber decklid panel and get these vents. Or buy the rtr decklid panel and paint my oem vents gloss black. I also think carbon looks best on darker or neutral colors, like black, grey, or silver.
I'd say just take the stockers off and get them sprayed. The CF in my opinion wouldn't be distinguishable enough from black unless up close.
I thought I saw a thread back a while that you were getting a whole new hood? was that somebody else or is that not happening?

I was. I canceled the order because the best quote I got for painting it was more than the hood itself.
