Is there anyobe out there that fabricates aluminum skid plates? I'd like an aluminum copy of the plastic air deflector underneath the engine.

 

When I installed a Honda S2000 engine and gear box in my Morgan the guy who did the install created a tubular steel motor mounting system with attachment points for a skid plate to protect the cast aluminum crank case. It did not have to be removed to change the oil or filter. I know that on my V6 Mustang there is a plastic panel that must be unbolted and 'dropped' to provide access for that maintenance. It sort of hinges at the rear so is not completely removed. I suspect a skid plate might be a bigger hassle.
