Affordable first mods

Just got my black 2014 convertible. I'm a college student so what are some things I can do to make mine stand out that won't cost all that much. Thanks for the help!

Depends on what direction you want to go with it, honestly. I have Race Red, so I blacked out the hood vents (you could do matte black, or grey), black badges (again, depends on what you're looking for), tinted marker lights.

You could look into the Boss rear diffuser, maybe some different grilles. Check the marketplace here, you can find good stuff.

Lowering springs are also an option, they aren't too bad on price - but realize your shocks will not last as long. I was going to do it, but then decided to replace the whole suspension and sell the old to offset the cost.

Eric,

Welcome and Congratulations! That's a killer college car! There's a ton parts that you could have installed at a great price but it's tough finding the right one for you. I always tell people to find something about their car that they don't like (I know it sounds impossible!) but the first thing that I've always changed on all of my cars has been the emblems! They stick out like a sore thumb. We some Gloss Black 3.7 Fender Emblems that I think would work nice!

Let me know if you have any questions and I'm here to help!

Alex

Why do people always recommend hood struts? Not going to make his car stand out and seems like a waste of time and money. It isn't like a prop rod is prone to failure.

I have a black 2013 vert. The wheels are powder coated black with red stripes. I also have red leather. I was thinking of either getting red mirror covers or vinyl wrapping them red to provide some contrast.

Axle backs for sure! One of the best inexpensive mods you can do off the bat.

Your car looks Awesome. How did you do the red stripe on the wheels?

What price range do you consider affordable?

I put a Roush front spoiler/splitter on my 2013 for less than $200, and it's made a big difference in looks and performance.

Hood struts are like a good starter modification . Most people do tint first, if you car is naked, maybe window louvers or scoops. Axlebacks, CAI, Stripes.

Me..I installed fog lights first. You are going to have to consider equipment cost too..like a toolset or car ramps.
