3M Clear Bra

Just wanted to give a glowing review of this. Had it installed locally for $425. That's a lot cheaper than I've seen elsewhere. I took a pebble hit on the highway on my way back down from Upstate NY, and no damage whatsoever. There's a little mark on the bra; I'll see if it washes off next time I wash her. If not, I'll take a picture so you guys know what I was protected from.

All in all, very happy with it. If you're not too far away from the Allentown area, I'll let you know the name of the place that did it for me.

Nothing like a clunker lookin' Mustang that's a few tenths quicker but needs a new paint job from rock chips and bug juice.

3M Clear Mask FTW!

Ouch, I was taken for an extra $100 on mine. Yesterday, I had the front 18" of the hood, front lights, front bumper, and side view mirrors covered, and patches behind each wheel.

I agree. Pics would be very helpful. I'd especially like to see what it looks like at the point where the bra ends.

Work blocks all picture sites, so I can't post any right now. I'll try to get some up this weekend. I want to do a detail job on the car after my now-weekly ritual drive on Saturday.

In the meantime, Cdynaco's picture does a pretty good job.

Also, Agent, you may have paid $100.00 more than me, but you got more. I only have the hood, front bumper and backs of the mirrors. I think it's pretty reasonable to get the headlights and the pieces in back of the wheel wells for only $100 more.

Thanks for pointing that out. This is how mine turned out.

Good question, How about Tru-Fiber hood with misplaced hood pins? lol
Seriously, does that film come pre cut for a stock mustang or in sheets to fit it yourself?

my question is, what happens when it gets discolored or chipped up? can u just pull it off, with no paint damage?

Also, can you polish your car with it? Like, polish over it, will it shine, or will that damage it?

Yes you can polish over it. Yes you can remove it. I asked my installer and he says you can pull it off and it doesn't take clearcoat with it.

It has worked so well on the B that I just placed an order for my new brand X winter car too. I love this stuff!!

It's easiest to see along the edge of the hood. The clear bra edge is about 1/8" from the hood edge. And it's really easy to see if any dust collects along the edges.

Given that chip-and-seal is so popular in this part of the country, I kind of wish I'd asked if a double layer installation was possible across the bumper, lights, and front of hood.
