Cool 285/40/19 Tires Installed on my 2013 GT!

Got some 285/40/19 Pirelli Pzero tires installed on my 2013 GT yesterday. Got them both used for $340 shipped on ebay with both having around 70% tread life left. I'm really happy with the tires and the fitment. They look great on the car and fit the 19x10 wheels perfectly. I don't understand why more people don't run this size and why there aren't more tire options for the size. But anyway let me know what you guys think! More pics coming soon

Looks good, I am liking the Stickiness of the P-Zeros on mine.
I will be putting 275/40 19's on mine when the 255/40's wear out, widest I can go on the 8.5 inch wheels.

If the car came with 255/40R19's from the factory, then the rims are most likely 9" wide so you can then easily fit 285/35R19's back there

That's the size I was thinking of, for the back of my Track Pack GT which has the 19x9 Brembo-pack rims, but since then I had all-season 255/40R19's installed on all 4 stock rims and am hoping to have a staggered set of 20's for next summer, with a 305 tire in the back

As far as these 285/40R19's, not much of a choice of tires in this size ... the Pirellis, new, are about $400 each, and not many other choices for much less, especially if you want an all-season tire

When you change tires you want to stay as close as you want to your factory height which is about 27.03" for brembo pack 19" tires. 285/40/ would be about 28". An ideal size for wider 19" would be either 275/40 or 285/35. I guess it really wouldn't matter too much as long as you have no rubbing issue with you lowered. I myself prefer a little fatter tires for our unpredictable roads but I ended up with 275/40 on my 19 X 10 rear forgestar. It's perfect.

Forgot to ask, are you still able to chirp with those tires? My chirps are history since I put on my 275's. However I am still on stock ecm. I had no problems chirping with stock rubber tho.

The V6 Performance Package has an 8.5, as for all seasons, I have a dedicated set of wheels for winter.

Yeah, I checked Tire Rack and they had 3 choices in that size and the best-performing one was a $453 Michelin. Other 2 were a "grand touring all-season" $222 Continental, and a Goodyear for $356

The expensive choices might just be why we don't see this size installed that often ... lol

i'll post side shots later today.

i went with this size because it is wider and taller than stock which i wanted. 275/40 are as well but these tires are only .2" taller than 275/40 (not noticable looks wise) but are like .4" wider.

I'm very happy with the look. The traction though still sucks when it's cold. I spin thru 3rd easily when it's under 55* :/

Tire Rack's charts say Pirelli tells them the 275s are good on nine-inch rims, 285s start on 9.5-inchers.
