2013 Mustang Gt hood support

Good day all. Have a roush hood support kit and the struts are too weak to hold hood now. Any replacement part numbers available out there?

Was Stabilus 7554xk 0380n

Thanks Jeff

Don't have a replacement part number for you, but I have a 2014 with the Roush hood kit. Checked mine out and found that it has Stabilus Lift-O-Mat gas struts with part number 13861 0585N 158/13 B 28. After doing some searching about the only thing I could find was this...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Stabilus-Li...-/192695704299

Other than paying the $115-$120 for a new kit there is not much else out there.

I did notice that most of the Lift-O-Mat struts state that they have a limited life-time warranty. Might want to contact Stabilus or Roush to find our if the are under a warranty replacement of any kind. Good luck.

Post whatever you find out. I am interested since I am sure mine will loose their umph some day as well.

Thanks for posting. That seems much more reasonable than buying a full kit!

Cool Better option?

I found my way to this page on Monday, and I thought you know what? I don't want to pay $60.00 knowing that these Stabilus supports have a short life span. I mean that's how we all found this thread, right? We were frustrated that our Roush hood strut kit included struts that failed prematurely, and there's no easy way to get ahold of replacements.

Well friends, I happened across https://www.liftsupportsdepot.com/ and chatted with a representative who cross referenced the Stabilus Lift-O-Mat 7554XK to their part number 4512S10-W (12.05" Lift Supports Depot 4512S10 Lift Support With 10MM Claw Ball Sockets).
I paid $40.44 SHIPPED and they got here, to Atlanta from California, in two days. AND THEY WORK!

Obviously I just installed them so I can't speak for longevity, but if they last at least a year they will have outlasted the Stabilus crap they replaced.

Just wanted to add for folks that make their way here via the Googles in the future.

Hey thanks for posting!

As to the longevity of the Stabilus lifts mine are now over seven years old and still working just fine. (Probably just jinxed that didn't I.) I hope they keep their lift for at least a few more years, but at least I now have options. Thanks, we will check it out when the time comes.
