Cool 2012 Silver MCA w/ Black Roof and Hood

Hi,

In the next week or two I will likely be placing an order for a Silver 2012 Mustang MCA. I'm not a huge fan of the side stripe so will likely be getting a stipe delete. But I was thinking that there could be other ways to give this kit a unique twist. I've always liked the effect produced by painting the roof of a light colored car in black. The new maximas have that option and I think it looks awesome (esp. in with a silver or white exterior) So I created this photoshop of a 2011 Mustang MCA with a black roof and a black hood.

There's one image with just the roof blacked out, and another with both the roof and the hood. Let me know what you guys think.

I like it better with the silver hood. Just my 2 cents.

Can't say that I like either treatment. Perhaps a black hood that retains a silver border - similar to the 1969 black hood treatment. As far as stripe delete, you will be deleting it yourself as Ford doesn't offer stripe delete with 2012 MCA Mustangs.

Like Jason said Vinyl...

Plus Ford makes an option as a dealer install.

Also, if you're going to do the hood/roof. I would also do the trunk lid. down to the faux gas cap.

If you want a contrasting roof, you could always get the Glass Roof option. It's beautiful from inside or out. Expensive, but nice.

I agree, and really wish I got this option now. I'm not crazy about the black roof or hood, vinyl or painted. Here's a couple pictures of a silver GT from the gallery with a glass roof:

I think gloss instead of matte would make a world of difference IMO. I viewed a 2010 in custom grabber orange body and black hood, roof and trunk following the break lines of the car seperated by a yellow 3/16. Very sharp.

I agree with the gloss and I'd take it to the edge of the fenders and pinstripe the transition. The way it looks now is someone forgot to paint the hood.

Ehh, I prefer solid body colors unless you put stripes on it. I'm not a fan of the black hood, but the roof looks better. Not that I like it. ..But, I think if you want the roof different you should do the glass. ...I really hate the black hood.. ..kinda looks like from a distance you would be posing to have a carbon fiber hood. IMO.

I have a White 2012 MCA with the Glass Top and Black Stripes I am thinking about doing the same treatment to my Hood - Matte Black but not all the way to the edge but with pin striping about 2" from the Edge, My first Mustang was a 1971 Fastback 302 2V Painted White With Black Boss 351 Stripes and a Blacked out hood and this car remind me of that.
