I was checking out the wheels on American Muscle and was thinking about the 2010 GT500 wheels. A lot of the wheels don't say how much they weigh. My car is a 2012 GT in red candy metallic. I have the stock 18" polished wheels right now. I want 19" rims non-staggered, light weight, I want to use my original center cap so it looks more stock. I'm mostly just doing it for the looks, don't want it to affect performance in a bad way. I want to buy from american muscle. What would you recommend?

 

If your looking at the GT500 wheels why not go with the 18" ? When its time for new tires you will have better luck with 18" tires in stock at any major tire dealer also I went from 19" to 18" on my GT and have no regrets. I my rim pkg from

The 2010 GT500 wheels aren't much heavier then your factory wheels. I'm not sure of the exact weight, but I've driven Mustangs with them on and haven't noticed any drawbacks. One thing you should be aware of is the OEM Ford center caps do not fit in our replica wheels without modification. Since the wheels are replicas, they have to be different in a few ways, so we make the center cap one of the differences.

You do have a choice of more center caps for these wheels on our AM site though. Anything that's not listed as an OEM center cap will fit on our site.

Get the real deal from Ford Racing and not knock off's just my opinion if you want GT500 wheels.

I got the chrome 19" GT500 wheels from AM and I recall them being about 3-4 pounds heavier each than the stock 19" wheels. I did not notice any difference in handling or ride quality. no comment on gas mileage though (it's a GT, i didn't buy it for the mileage)

I know everyone hates on the GT500 replicas and all I will say is the 19" ones are much nicer than the 18". the only reason I got the replicas was because I specifically wanted chrome and I love the way they look.

if you decide you really want 18" then I would just get the real deals. they are reasonably priced and look nicer than the 18" replicas and are easy to get as takeoffs (with rubber).

Those are nice, try finding 19" tires in stock anyware if you blow one out or get a nail or something, no one will have a tire in stock. You can find 18" and 20" everyware.

 

Also OEM allways has a nice look then aftermarket replicas I think.

19" tires are somewhat rare, but are becoming more and more common. A lot of Infinity, Lexus, Ford Mustangs, have factory 19" wheels now. Plus, you can always order new tires from us! If it's ordered before 5:30pm EST, they'll ship out the same day!

Here is a great price on REAL OEM GT500 wheels. Sorry but have purchased aftermarket wheels in the past and always had shimmy issues and rebalancing issues. Stockers,though limited in choice somewhat, are always the best choice for quality in MY opinion. Here is the link for the OEMs at a great price.
