Tire Pressure Sensor Malfunction?
I have a 2012 Mustang, 3,000 miles on it, and the "low tire pressure" warning light came on a few days ago. I immediately checked the tire pressure and everything was fine, so I filled each tire up another 2psi, reset the warning on the dash (dash Reset button, not with an OBD II tool), and drove along.
The light is still on giving me the warning, and nothing is low. I'm taking it in to get serviced, just wondering if this is a common problem or a unique issue? I've never had a car with a TPMS before.

Not "common". I've had mine come on before, but all 4 of my tires were 6 pounds low. The Tire shop I stopped at to air up said these sensors can trigger with as little as 3 pounds down.
What are you airing the tires up as? On my door sticker (with stock tires), mine are supposed to have 35 pounds. Maybe you are under inflating?

Mine were all around 30-32psi. I normally run my tires at 32psi all around, didn't know that was low enough to trigger the warning. Thanks for the quick replies! Time to fill er up!

I have had an on going issue with this since I bought my car. I have aftermarket wheels and my warranty ran out last month.
I simply took the cluster apart and covered the tpms light with electrical tape. Took me 10 minutes tops and saves me a headache, $$$ for sensors, an the trouble of looking at an ugly orange warning light 24/7.
And FYI... My tires all run at 37 psi and I check them twice a week.

No it wouldn't be from the spare. I found out what it was actually -- these are supposed to be inflated to 35psi, if they drop more than 10% (so down to 31psi) the warning light comes on. Seems a little conservative to me, but at least they are working properly.
