I would like to share my experience with Steeda.
I have recently been "trying" to run the Bama tunes. I have been through over a dozen tunes between the part upgrades and faults of the tunes with Bama. Out of those tunes, I was impressed with one. The very first tune sent out from Bama with the purchase of the iTSX wireless tuner and CAI, was the most noticeable performance tune I received from them.
It ran good and it sounded a little better. I then caught the modding bug, and purchased bolt on after bolt on, updating the tunes. The tunes have since been a hassle to correct and are still left uncorrected. Different shift points/firmness on every tune, very loud pinging, bad down shifts, and a couple stalls. They sound very unsafe and were deleted immediately and I was left running a prior tune for months, as I did not have the time or patients to deal with a bakers dozen of issues, not to mention the issues I have had with the wireless tuner itself. AMDan on the forums or Bama has yet to contact me back regarding the issues.
Steeda is located 10-15 minutes from my residence. They offered me a tune for trial, if I liked it, I could buy it. A good offer.
There is a night/day difference with the Steeda tune. All I can say is……WOW. Gus from Steeda used another stategy to tune the ECU, since it has been flashed many times.
My car now feels like it is finally tuned for the parts I have installed. The performance and sound is by far superior to the prior tunes. It sounds completely different at idle, cruising, and wot. Almost like a resonator delete.
It dropped my 0-60 time a FULL sec. Yes a whole second!
The power is constantly climbing in every gear, as before it felt like my 4th was useless. It is such an extreme difference that I no longer feel the need for a gear swap……..well maybe for now.
Thank you Steeda! you have gained my business.

I completely understand if you're happy with your new tune. However, I'd really like a chance to try and make this right. If you don't decide to keep the tune, that's perfectly fine. We've tuned more 2011+ V6 Mustangs than anyone else in the world and definitely have every aspect of these cars figured out. We actually were the first people to dip into the 11's in the 1/4 Mile with our 2011 V6!
Please shoot me a PM with your order number included and and I'll have our head tuning specialist reach out to you directly. I'm confident he'll be able to get you a good tune!

I'm sorry to hear that you had consistent issues with your Bama Custom tunes. This is not the type of feedback I'm used to hearing! We send out thousands of tunes and build them all from the ground up for your PCM code and your mods. They're not just "canned" tunes, they're built custom by our team, so every once in a while it's possible we mess one up! However, you shouldn't be having this much trouble getting a good tune.

My confidence is no longer there with you guys, No one will get back to me about my faulty wireless tuner dongle or tunes themselves.
I am already out of pocket with a tuner and tunes from AM in addition to time spent with issues.
I will have to purchase another tuner elsewhere as I did with the tune.

i bought a airaid cai and bama tune several months ago and i had a (and still do) problem with the rpms staying up for about 10-15 seconds when i push the clutch in at high rpm's (like when you warm up the tires at the drag strip and then push the clutch in at say 6k rpm). i emailed them about the problem and they asked me to send in a data log so i sent them one. i didnt hear back from them for about 2 weeks so i figured the email might not have gone threw with the data log so i sent it again. now 3-4 months later i have yet to get a revised tune or even hear from them about the issue. american muscle's customer service is great as far as buying parts but when it comes to the tune department/ bama they have been a disappointment to me. ill probably be ordering a steeda tune come friday (pay day) since they seem to have great tunes and great support.

Me too. I got tired of the forum promises, the unanswered phone calls and general lack of response when I was trying to datalog. I ended up going with MPT and similarly happy. Glad you're happy and got here silts you were looking for.

I know exactly how you feel Chris. While I haven't been having as much trouble as you with my Bama tunes they have not been right for me. As I continue to mod my car and get new tunes my stang has gotten progressively slower across the power band. The first set of the last tunes I got (if that makes sense) had a serious lag in throttle response from a stop. I finally got a revision I was ok with but then I installed the ported and polish upper and lower intakes and now it seems like these tunes are no better than stock. This doesn't bother me as much as the bad customer service I get from Bama when I call to talk to them. Its like they don't even want to help you or do any work to get your tune dialed in. I will give them one last try with the datalogs I recently sent them. If it doesn't work this time I'm done for good. Regardless I'm going to get a tune from someone else. Glad you like your Steeda tune. Its between them and MPT for me.
Hey Hogasswild anything you can tell me about the MPT tune. Great tune?

I have left you my info so many times and called many many times. And you come in here with a generic message that I have seen many times. Copy/Paste?
I would just like a full refund for the tuner and the tunes for life I purchased, which prob won't happen due to the horrible customer service I have experienced.
It is beyond a timely manner and you have lost this customer.
I used to refer many customers to your company. Never again.
Your "non" canned tunes ran worse than stock and could have cost me a lot of damage to my vehicle.

Obviously I am late to the discussion since you went with a different tune. My bama tunes weren't up to my expectations either. I gave them 3 tries. Finally went to my local speed shop and got a full custom dyno tune and couldn't be happier. They hit my target safely and my V6 is a rocket now. Email tunes get you "close". Close ultimately wasn't good enough for me.

WOW, Holy Crap!
Very interesting to find this imformation coming out now. My next mod was going to be a tuner and Bama tunes from AM, but this thread has got me thinking twice. My last mod was my Borla Stingers and the tuner was next. Kinda surprised AMDan hasn't replied to the PMs or this thread. What happens now in this thread will have alot to do with who I get my tuner and tunes from as I consider this an expensive mod. Please keep this thread updated and thanks for all the advise.

Anyone can give you great customer service when they're making a sale, that's never a problem. How can you not be nice to a customer when he's handing you a fist full of money? It's when a customer has an issue after the purchase that makes "customer service" a premium. If you're not there for your customer, why should the customer be there for you? This is where the "rubber meets the road", so to speak. I've spent almost $2000 with AM since I got my Mustang last April, so if they're interested in more of my business, they really need to have true customer service after the purchase. Just my 2 cents (or 2 grand).

I'M DONE! Just got my revision from them and now my Stang is very jerky again & there's hesitation in the engine. They are asking for more datalogs. I'm done giving them multiple chances to get it right. Bama seems to only be able to tune when you have basic mods like cai and gears. I feel I have simple bolt on mods. It shouldn't be that hard.

First , let me say I run Bama, Steeda and MPT tunes. I have been running bama tunes the longest time and going on around 3 years. Back when I first started on these mustang forums Bama was god around here rarely did you hear negative posts about bama. Sure, there were select few who had a poor experience with bama but not like its been here lately. So, what's the deal. I have never had a days trouble with Bama and very happy with there tunes. Now keep in mind, I haven't had Bama upgrade any of my tunes since around April 2013 but they have always been spot on and fast turn around.
So my question is, what's changed with bama and there tunning in the past year? Why all the hate? It seems that majority does not have a issue with AM but the issue is Bama which is separate from AM. So, whats change with Bama in the past year that has caused Bama's quality to slip away as some feel.
Has Bama gotten so huge and so busy, they need more tunning specialists to handle the high demand of customers? How many tunning specialists does Bama employ? Maybe the tunning specialist or specialists are overworked, way understaffed and can't keep up with the demand so things are slipping through the cracks.
Again, I have been very happy with AM and bama and will continue to have a relationship with them. In fact I just ordered a few more items from them last night. I do love me some AM.

The way I'm reading this thread, I don't think the problem is AM, it looks more like Bama. Either way, unless someone from AM or Bama replies on this thread, you can guess how this may go. Reputation is everything.

the american muscle part has amazing customer service. i give AM a A+, bama is the problem. bama is just so hard to deal with. i cant get them to make me another tune to fix the problem that ive been having for 5 months now. unless they can fix my problem by friday night then i will be switching and buying a steeda tune.
