Some thoughts on CAI...
The GT500 mufflers sound amazing on my 3.7L combined with my bbk shorty headers and frpp xpipe. I kept my resonators and wouldn't trade the sound for anything. The mufflers were the last stage on my exhaust setup and it gave me the most noticeable gains. They do increase flow and performance in my setup.
The Hpipe will give you a deeper sound slightly, but that's where you will lose your performance. There is more power produced by an xpipe for the 3.7L
I just installed an Airaid CAI knowing full well about the lack of power gains. I simply love it, period!! That's why it's a pre-curser to the axle backs, tune, and gears I'll be getting down the road in the near future. After those mods, the CAI will show it's benefits. I like to build mods on top of mods in a progressive layer. Each getting better as I go. I say go for it and have fun with it and screw the nay sayers. This Mustang has been a long time coming for me, all my life, and I'm gonna have all the friggin' fun with it that I can afford. Do your research, pick your mod, install it, enjoy it, don't look back, and have FUN! Whoo-hoo
