Roush AB, $275, worth it or not?

Hi all,

I came cross this Roush AB for 2011 V6 on eBay. It was list 325 bran new, after some negotiation, I lowered the price to $275+25 shipping.

So this is gonna be my first AB besides stock. Anyone who had or heard Roush, u think this is a good deal and will it make much difference to my V6?

Will post pics after I receive it.

Thanks

Mike

Do you have a reason for this? Other than it being a sixxer?

To the OP, Roush AB are loud as loud can be. They don't have the best tone IMO, but they definitely let people know you're coming. If you want loud, you'll probably love these. Just realize that you have a v6, so you won't have the low growl of a v8.....so don't expect that sound.
For that price, as long as they are in good shape, and are legit, you got a good deal.

I think they sound good in person, actually one of the better sounding ones. If they are new at that price, it's not a bad price considering what retailers try to get for them. They are a bit louder. Just a word of caution though, I've seen a lot of used ones online with low miles that look rusty.

Thanks all. Too bad I can't afford a V8 since I just recently graduated.

And I know for sure mine is not gonna sound any close to a V8. But after my friend's G37 with off road exhaust set, even it's kinda too loud to me, I think it sounds pretty nice. Plus, I couldn't find any Roush under 450 from retail, or used under 350.

I also like borla atak, but don't think it really worth it with double of the money.

That I'm pretty sure. If money is not an issue, borla's gonna be my first and only choice.

Borla is the best in every aspect. Look, sound, quality. Obviously they are pricey, but still worth it.

No, just wondering. Roush mufflers aren't that great in quality.

But just can't turn my head away from the price.

At least they sound better than my stock ones.

They are worth every penny, especially after Roush fixed up the quality on them and added weep holes.

Love mine, bought them and have never regretted it.

V6s with loud exhausts don't sound good.

OP, you paid $300 for your Roush system; that $25 shipping came out of the same pocket as the $275. That said, I paid the full $469 for mine (free shipping); I installed them myself and I like 'em. If you find that you don't care for the sound, you'll probably get your money back (or more) should you decide to sell them. Some don't care for the Roush sound on a 6-- others do. You'll be the judge IRT your car. Have fun!

Well, I do think I care about sound. That's why I've been looking around for a nice set of muffler. Was having hard time deciding between Roush and atak. For now, I think Roush is more than enough to fit my needs. Just dunno how it really sounds. Can't wait to have them installed.

And that's completely up to each person to decide. On my '06 sixxer, I had my 4.0 screaming! I loved it. Granted I put a lot of money into to get it to sound how it did, but I loved it. And every person I pulled up next to would give me thumbs up. Did it sound like any of my v8s ever did? No. But that doesn't mean that they are better. Everyone relates a v8 to a low rumbling 'beast' tone. I like the high whine a Ferrari or Lamborghini makes....among a huge number of other makes....does that make you wrong? Those cars will generally destroy your car in every aspect of speed and finesse. Then you hear people say..."well I can make my car fast for less money". Or something along those lines. Okay? What's different in the mustang world? You can make any car do what you want it to. What's good in your mind, might not be worth a sh*t to joe blow down the road.

Yes, having a v8 is a blast, and it can sound awesome, but this guy (op) has a car that has a v6 in it....a v6 that puts down some amazing numbers. Numbers that rival almost every mustang of earlier generations.
Same argument, you drive the 5.0....why not the 5.4 or the new 5.8? Those sound better than any 5.0 right?

I mean no disrespect in this post, just tired of the constant and inevitable v6 bashing. And yes, blairnr67, you didn't bash the v6 like others do, I recognize that.

:endrant:
