Just curious what speed / rpms people tend to shift at for every day driving, and for in city driving for 35mph / 50km/h zones do you tend to sit in 3rd of 4th?
Obviously what gear you're in depends on a lot of factors but just looking for generalizations. Prob just need to get a feel for it but any advice is appreciated.

It depends on your gear ratio
Mine is 3.31... at 35 MPH I'm probably in 5th riding around 1.2k RPM to save gas

According to the owner's manual starting at pg 215:
Upshifts for the 2.73 when accelerating (recommended for best fuel economy)
Shift from:
1 - 2 15 mph (24 km/h)
2 - 3 25 mph (40 km/h)
3 - 4 40 mph (64 km/h)
4 - 5 45 mph (72 km/h)
5 - 6 50 mph (80 km/h)
Upshifts for the 3.31 when accelerating (recommended for best fuel economy)
Shift from:
1 - 2 13 mph (21 km/h)
2 - 3 26 mph (42 km/h)
3 - 4 37 mph (59 km/h)

Hogasswild, which tune do you like? I have a Red Candy Premium V6 Vert. ordered, so i can't do the performance package. But, I plan on doing a CAI as i did on my current car. This tune stuff is new to me. I have been out of the mod world for about 11 years since I tricked out my 2000 Laser Red V6 Vert. Are these tunes something you can do in your garage or do we need a tech at a shop to do it?
I love my 93 octane race tune most, but if you own an automatic then you may like the street tune better.
You can easily do the tune in your driveway. You just need to buy a tuner and tune files. Bama sells them together and you can get free adjustments for life.

Not that I am trying to sway you, but I've owned three tuned cars and never had an issue with warranty work. There have been very few issues (all resolved I believe) with using Bama tunes. I just don't see a reason not to use them if you are inclined to. I get better gas mileage, more power and a slightly more aggressive note out of them. I truly feel as though the CAI and tune compliment one another. You will see gains from each on their own, but from experience they work best together. You just won't be able to say a tune gets you 20HP and a CAI gets you 15 so you netted 35HP. Doesn't work that way.

I have a modified mustang as well, see Sig, but some people may feel better not doing tunes. Just giving them more options. There are some dealers out there that will give you issues.
For daily use I would recommend the 91 performance tune. When racing at the track use the race tune. It takes about three minutes to change the tune. Piece of cake. I do not like the race tune because I don't race and use my car to drive to the shore or Wal Mart. I find it annoying that my engine is reving at 2500 rpm's doing 15 mph down my development street. If at track then the race tune is where you want to be.
