Question For 3.7 Owners With Long Term Use of a Tune
So right now my 2014 is running the stock tune on my 3.7. It's fine for just normal driving and mild acceleration but I notice that under hard acceleration the car feels like the motor really wants to put the power down and the tune is holding it back. It's difficult to describe except to say it feels like its actually retarding the powerband a bit or almost like the car has hit a rev limiter long before red line for just a brief moment and then it will grab again.
So anyway, I'm considering a mild tune so that the car holds the power throughout the powerband. I'm running the automatic and I'll have to check on my gearing but I believe it's the 2.73's. I use nothing but 93 octane fuel and the car is meticulously maintained.
My question is for those of you who have run a "street" tune for a lengthy amount of time. Has it caused any issues for you over time and how was the performance compared to your stock tune?

Redliners tune, also used steeda. Both good, the Redliners race tune is great but the throttle response is a little too much for street use. Great if you want to have fun, though. Their performance tune feels about the same as my steeda tune. Performance is greatly enhanced, primarily throttle response. The bump in power isn't bad, either.

I do have 3.31's as well (perf pack). The only real issue with the race tune is trying to drive smoothly when I'm just "driving". When I'm out having a good time I love it, but when I'm just trying to get home from work I have to be too precise on the throttle and I prefer the performance tune.

We have plenty of Steeda Performance Vehicles on the road with the Steeda tune & over the long run ... no issues.
Many of our test vehicles are still running the tune, pushed to their limits & still running strong!
P.M. Sent.

Thanks TJ, I'll browse some prices for a CAI / Tune combo and check my options.

100% certain that it is.
I remember the demo I drove was an auto with 2.73 gears. I almost didn't buy the mustang based on that demo. I loved the styling and flexibility of how you can build out your car from factory that I got mine with the PP and it is night and day.

Assuming you are running the P215/65R17 tires, your revs at 65MPH in 6th gear would rise from 1,514 to 1,836 going from 2.73 to 3.31. Those numbers are calculated and may not be exact, but they are close enough. I would expect your mileage to drop, but I have no idea how much.
I would probably go for a tune first and see how the car felt before changing the rear end, but that's just me.

Currently at 70 mph I'm just a shade under 1500 rpm.

TJ with Steeda was nice enough to give me a 6% discount but from what I'm seeing on this thread and other research I'm seriously considering the Airaid dry filter with Bama tune combo from American Muscle.
