If you plan on turning off the speed limiter, a one-piece driveshaft is a good idea. If you don't plan on it, don't bother with replacing the driveshaft unless you simply want one. The cost is about $700, and if you don't install it yourself, you'll be paying labor charges as well.

I have just the opposite thinking. They are one of the few mods that pays for itself by increased MPG's. Don't know what the speed limiter has to anything but maybe it does I don't know. I wouldn't trade my shaftmasters alum drive shaft back to the stock piece for anything.

The speed limiter keeps the car below the speed at which the driveshaft consumes itself and the floor pan.

I didn't know if it was an overseas package option. I guess he means standard? Like as in manual?

Agree, changing the speed limit in a tune is almost a gaurentee for disaster with the V6 driveshaft.

Anyone happen to have that vid on hand with the driceshaft rupturing at 130 mph and that one dudes sixxer?

Brw OP welcome to the forum, a one piece aluminum drive haft will improve throttle response, seat o the pants feeling, and increase mpgʻs without worrying about the puece tearin itself apart due to centrifugal force. Highly recommended swap

Smoothes out the drivetrain, less rotating mass, but no HP or MPG gains. Oh and yeah, if you go above 115 the stocker will grenade shortly, the 1 pc aluminum one wont. Unless you track it or use the autobahn you shouldnt be doing these speeds on public roads anyway.....
