Yes, both baffles still out.

Moronic people, pull out in front of anyone. They figure if they can get their nose out into traffic then they have the right of way.

One last question: I see you bought a 3/4 inch NPT male/female 90 degree fitting. You also mention you "screwed it into the air box.....".

Can I assume that one end was threaded (the male side)?

Yeah, you can assume that BOTH ends are threaded, male end on the outside, female end on the inside, that's how a male/female NPT fitting is made. But the important part on the female side is that the outside diameter was round and smooth and approximately 1.5" so the end of the sound tube would clamp to it. It was not a perfect solution, not made for what I used it for, but it worked.

Forgive me but I dont see any reason to add weight and interior noise with no power gain?

That's funny...

Weight? Maybe, maybe 2 pounds.

Sound? It'll give you an eargasm!

But hey, that's great if it's not for you.

If you ran the air conditioning would the sound tube function as a cold air intake pulling cold air from the interior?

No, no air flows through, only sound.

Trolls.

You did a great job with the write up and sound clip. I see no weight problem with a plastic tube being added to the engine compartment.

Found the package for the fitting.

Description: Street Elbow, Male X Female
Size: 3/4 Threads
MFG No. SE34
Ace No. 4001327

So, if you have an Ace hardware you can go there and get that number or take it to another hardware store and they can probably cross reference it.

Ace is the place for the helpful hardware man (showing my age with that commercial quote). There's one right down the street from me. Perfect!

Did the prep on my stock air box this weekend, adding the 90 degree elbow with one slight change. I installed the 90 degree elbow on the air tube itself rather than the 'muffler' area. I used a threaded end to screw into the stock tube, as the OP did on his air box. I epoxed the fitting, then ground down the inside as to not obstuct air flow. Painted this fitting black. The fitting is plugged awaiting the tube to arrive this Wednesday from a member here from California.

How come you went to all that trouble???

No reason to put the elbow in the tube on the stock inlet since those muffler chambers are there and don't intrude on the airflow no matter how far in the fitting sits.

I just finished cutting the grass, removed a dead tree, and cleaned off the roof (moss from a large oak tree in the front yard), so now it was "fun" time for me. I actually like to do this sort of stuff. The elbow tucked in nice on the bottom side of the tube.

My main reason for doing it this way though was I plan to remove the muffler chamber from the stock tube soon to clean up the look and make it a smooth outer tube to the TB. I already have the fiberglass mat and goop to do so; I'll post that mod when it's done.

I have an automatic. I also purchased one from a standard. I want to see what the difference is, as the lengths cannot be it, as a GT 5.0 air tube to firewall distance would be the same no matter if it were a standard or automatic. My couriosity is getting to me. Maybe the automatic came with only one foam inner filter in this sound tube, whereas the standard had two? Or vice versa?

Still can't immagine what the difference would be, I'm sure either one will work.

They all have two foam baffles.

Well, that explains why I did not get much of a response when I posted this question on the tech forum. Interesting that Ford has two different part numbers for this tube based on if it's an automatic or standard transmission.
