Cool Installed BBK Long Tube Headers

Ordered BBK Long Tube Headers with the shorty catted X-Pipe Sunday from American Muscle. They arrived on Wed. They came with all the 02 sensor extensions. Everything fit perfect. My Magnaflow Street Series mufflers have some extra sound to them now, i love it. I've only driven a few miles to check for leaks.[IMG][IMG][/IMG][/IMG]

Here is a bad video of the way they sound with my Magnaflow 'Street Series' axle back mufflers. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qKGG0h1HYNc

Well, I think you may need to swap the maggotflows out for something else if you really want it to sound good.

LRS put those headers on their V6 car with those same mufflers and it really sounded bad at WOT, had that off sounding whistle/rattle sound. He has tried a few different axle-backs looking for the best sound.

With my Magnaflow 'street series' mufflers being the more quiet performance mufflers made, i'll be reinstalling my factory stock mufflers to see how they sound. I think they will be a lot of people going back to the factory mufflers after installing the BBK long tube headers on their V-6's.

Actually, Justin at LRS did put the stock mufflers back on for a while and they sounded pretty good, especially at WOT.

I think maybe some stock GT500 mufflers, modified to fit, would probably sound real good.

I ran the Headers with my old tunes for a couple hundred miles. Never got a check engine light. A few days ago i had Gus at Steeda (Thanks Gus!!!) make me a couple new tunes for the Headers. I can't believe the extra power and torque my little V-6 has now. I'll get the G-Tech out in a few weeks and time a few 0-60's. I'm going to keep the Magnaflow's on for now, the sound is growing on me, plus they are so light compared to the heavy factory mufflers.

After hearing it in person it sounds Bad Azz, you can definitely tell it has the headers on when he puts his foot in it

Thanks Ken. Here is a bad video of 0 to 100 mph. G-Tech time was 5.48 on the 0 to 60 time. I'm still messing with the global spark setting on my Steeda Tune from Gus. The road is a little uphill. http://youtu.be/WlebQLZc-rg It seems to be pulling nice and hard with the headers.

I just did this as well with the same setup, except my axel-back was Borla ATAK. It's more aggressive than a fair amount of v8s that I've heard. I'll post a video ASAP
