Flomaster II (Axle Back) Just Installed = ?mistake?
Pleeeeeeease tell me the drone sound will go away?! Lol
(Dealer Installed yesterday) They sound great when I'm "on it", but unless Im in 3rd gear going 70, Im getting an awful lot of noise (I'm a total newb, so I'm assuming this is what you're calling drone). Any chance this will improve with time?
I searched the forums and mostly found discussions about which exhaust was recommended. Sorry if this topic has been beat to death, just wondering what (if any) options I may have.
Thanks!

I have Flowmaster exhaust Force II and never had any drone. I personally love my Flowmaster exhaust. I only experienced drone when I installed my BBK headers and off road x pipe. That was an easy fix. Had installed two glass pack resonators. Never had any drone when first installed my Flowmaster exhaust force II's

Thanks for the responses....since Kona is ok, maybe my issue will resolve itself on its own? I'm an idiot when it comes to cars, but I read somewhere the car adapts to the exhaust (something like that) over time, but if you disconnect the battery, the computer will immediately recognize the exhaust change?

Drone with many aftermarket exhausts are a common issue.
I took this into careful consideration when doing mine.I did some research and decided on a ford racing x-pipe and GT500 mufflers.
I then call Ford Racing and talked to the exhaust specialist. I told him what I wanted and what I picked. He told me that was exactly what I wanted. So I ordered it. It is a little louder a idle and it is deeper and meaner while accelerating but it does not drown you out going down the road. People are often telling me how awesome my car sounds. I wish we could get this type of message out to as many people as possible because I know so many people that have gone wrong with aftermarket and regretted it.

No, it does not.

you would not have to disconnect the battery and the self adjustment would not affect the sound. only the engine performance due to increased air out flow if all restrictions were removed.

I love my force 2. No drone or pop. Tips had the drain hole already....However, I bought them used from a cool 70ish gentleman.
Try the Roush mufflers...then you'll realize how cool the FM really are.

I am currently running gt500s at the end of my exhaust. no drone at any rpm, just a helicopter sound @ WOT

I wish I could record how bad it is and post it...I really love the Flowmaster sound, but it just hasn't worked out. I hate to put more $ into it unless it'll definitely make a difference. I think I paid $571 on AM + $100 to have them installed + will pay another $100 to re-install the originals! ugh stop the bleeding!
