Exhaust question

Hi all

I come cross this sale which is a set of v6 magmaflow competition catback. It looks so new and nice.

However, this is a dent on each of its x pipe. So I was wondering if this is fixable and will it have any effect on sound.

Thanks

I would think an exhaust shop could fix it. But I'd be curious how it happened to begin with, as it looks pretty uniform on both sides. Perhaps there are clearance issues? If so...No point in fixing it, if it's just gonna happen again. Hopefully someone can chime in as to whether it even makes a difference...

someone may have dented them to stop exhaust droning. the cats on the mustangs 2012 came factory dented just for that reason. So I have been told by several people in the know.

Well, from a instrumental point of view, the pathway that the exhaust is traveling has been altered, which means that the sound is not going to be the same as it was intended. I don't know if its going to be for the better.

I saw that auction on eBay. Decided not to bid further after hearing all the clips online it sounded a little too "metallic" almost ricey IMO.
