CAI question...

Is there any significant difference between the BBK CAI and the Airaid CAI for the 3.7L V6 besides the price???

Some say that chrome CAI's (BBK) conduct more heat than plastic ones (Airaid). I have a chrome BBK CAI on my '04 V6 and I like it. If you like the look of both, I'd go with whichever one's cheaper.

I like the BBK because of the chrome, its shiny! Lol. But that's why I asking performance wise which is the best? I don't want to buy one just for looks.

Theoretically, the Airaid would yield better results but it would be a very minimal difference - just a couple HP. I say go with the BBK because you won't feel any difference in power between the two.

I have the airaid cai on my 2012 and I love it. I bought it with a tuner from AM while it was on sale so I can't really tell you what the performance gain by itself was but I do know once I installed it and the tune my Stang woke the hell up!!

I've been reading some post that a Tune can void your warranty? Did you research anything with your warranty before the mods?

Yeah it will but since I didn't get an extended warranty I wasn't to worried about it. I wouldn't recommend anyone with an extended warranty or that doesn't want to take the chance tune there stang. Theres people out there that will tell you you can keep the dealer from knowing by flashing it back to stock specs, disconnecting the battery or other stuff but I don't know if that will work . It all depends on what your comfortable with doing.

I have the Airaid and like it a lot.

It not only fits perfect and looks really good but I do notice a lot better throttle response with it then I had before.

I did not want chrome because everything in my engine compartment matches and looks great when I pop the hood.

I'm definitely going to to go with the Air raid. Looks great in the bay and the gain sounds significant.

I recommend you get the airaid and the 73mm tb. Even without a tune those two together will give you good performance gains and sound.
