Borla touring drone
I would just give them a call, Borla's # 877.462.6752. They also have the Johnson City TN. and the Oxnard CA. numbers on their web site.
Sounds like something is not welded correctly inside, I have zero drone with mine.

Just talked to someone from summit but they won't do anything about it, he said I have to talk to Borla. Actually I sent Borla a mail a week ago and didn't get an answer yet. Does anyone have any experience with Borla concerning any issue of customer service? How do they handle product problems?
No not yet! Borla didn't reply to my mails and summit said there are not responsible, so what.
I tried some sealant, but that didn't cure it. It is a bit better but definitely not the way the touring should sound. It still has a drone.
The soundfile has to wait, I am to busy to even work on the car. Maybe next week...

Final decision is made, the borlas have to go. After a three hour drive with a constant drone I really have had it! I will change back to stock any time next week, as soon as I got time to do it.
What would be a good replacement? I'm looking for nice deep drone free sound which isn't to loud, useable for daily extended driving??

Where are you located? Joe and I are working with Solo Performance on a system for the V6, that may just be exactly what you're looking for. Hang in there. I can't believe Borla didn't take care of this for you. It's probably so unheard of that they don't believe you, all the more reason to take care of it!

Ah, well pm jay@hypermotive then! He's active duty and stationed somewhere in Germany, but he's a Borla dealer (among all the other top brands). If he can't help you with Borla, he can at least help you choose a new exhaust...
Great, I'll send him a mail and see what he things. Hope he can help me with the borlas or even better help me to choose the best solution.
SpeedyJoe,
Google your issue. Exhaust drone is not from leaks it is an issue with resonant frequency causing the car or part of the car to vibrate. Some have fixed it with Pipes that stuck out a little further in the back. Filling the tire area with something. I use to be in Audio really high end and had to deal with the underlying issue.
Good Luck there is nothing worse to me than Drone.

I know that the drone might be caused by resonance frequencies and I already tried some sound deadening material in the trunk but it didn't work. I have been looking at the problem in many different ways but nothing solved it, so I simply went back to the point when it started and that was when I installed the exhaust!
Finally I got a soundfile ... unfortunately the quality isn't that good!

Update!
The reply from borla wasn't really helpful, they sent an instruction to drill a drain hole into the mufflers, to get rid of the accumulated water. But that didn't cure the drone!
So I finally switched back to the stock ones. Any suggestions on nice deep sounding mufflers without any drone?!

Everyone thinks (and will tell you) they have the best sounding axlebacks. I like my Magnaflow 'streets' series. Nice low sound and not too loud. Mine are louder after i installed my long tube headers and catted shorty x pipe but, still no drone at any speed or rpm
... Finally, Borla is doing the exchange. After a few discussions with them, they finally agread to refund or exchange the mufflers. I decided to go for the exchange. I still love the borla sound.
Just hope that everything goes as promised....

man o man, i hope it works out for you!
I recently had seen the shop I was at, install borla touring on a F-150 and it was quieter than stock :S on his 6 cylinder F150
I was blown away... I really was.
I hope that the second time around works for you.

I listened to the sound clip. They sound fine to me. Sounds like exhaust. They are definitely going to make noise. My ATAKs are pretty loud through all ranges but are whisper quiet when cruising on the freeway. If I downshift to third to pass someone they liven up real quick.
