VMP offers revisions on their tunes. He has no problem turning the 02 sensors off too if need be. I prefer to go with tuners that use their own tune, race them, win with them and are proven. I like the work of both Lund and VMP, I sell VMP but I'm currently running a Lund tune however I'm waiting on VMP's initial tune for our Boss.

Go with gears and ceramic long tube headers and off road x pipe. I had my car dyno a few weeks ago. I have a 2011 V6, 91 MPT performance race tune, Airraid CAI, BBK ceramic long tube headers and off road x pipe. I made

297 rwhp and 276 rwtq.

sweet, i want to break the 300rwhp mark soon and those might just do it. what gear ratio should i get? the 3.31's in it now have 1st gear kinda short.

Those numbers seem low, I figure with those mods it would be a little higher.

Well, I was hoping for 300 rwhp. Lol. Remember an auto v6 is making around 257 rwhp stock. I am making 297 rwhp. That's a gain of 40 rwhp. I was thinking that was good but maybe not.

Yeah, the autos loose a bit more rwhp compared to the manual. The autos stock are around 257 or so rwhp on the dyno. Lol.

Nice. Get some fat sticky tires and let loose. Sounds like you got a little demon! I just finished all my exterior mods. Starting on the performance now. You gave me some good ideas.

I'm hoping to hit 360rwhp with 3.73, shorty headers, full cat-back, cai, port & polish, 73mm tb, alum. ds and tune as far as performance mods go.

Id say 3.55 or even 3.73 gears and a tune. Your pony will change forever

I was thinking the same thing. I can't see it being anywhere close to 360 rwhp. Sorry bro. The gears and aluminum driveshaft won't effect rwhp numbers. I only made 297 rwhp and that's with tune, CAI , long tube headers and off road x pipe. I don't have the BBK 73 mm throttle body but one is not gonna gain 60 rwhp from the throttle body. If anything the shorty headers will make less rwhp compared to the long tubes.

I may be placebo crazy but just changing to wider tires made my v6 a lot less tame. The wheels are 18x10 rear, 18x9 front Goodyear f1 supercars. I don't want to get flamed in the forum but my little 11 v6 "has" layed down the rubber but only with the wider tires on. The OEM tires on the car made it impossible to "get up" let alone grip and smoke. The original factory tires are hard as plastic, made the car crawl, and pointless looking IMO. Kona, I can imagine your car with wider tires. 297hp with some fat tires is well enough fun for me and my end goal. You're lucky!

I'm sure one may be able to squeeze a few more HP numbers out with bolt on mods but 60 plus rwhp more, I'm not feeling it but a man can dream and hope. Lol

I agree he won't hit 360whp, but your numbers are a little low for your mods too, you should be over 300whp for sure. And if he has a manual, he will put down more power than an automatic. Also you are wrong about the gears and aluminum driveshaft, both tend to affect whp/tq numbers slightly.

I have seen time and again that going to a higher gear ratio will actually drop the whp/tq numbers slightly. I forget why that is, an engineer explained it to us once, but I have seen the numbers. We're not talking about a huge change, and obviously the car is faster, but in terms of sheer numbers it comes into play a bit (like 1-2% difference). It's hardly noticeable, but it's there so I just thought I'd bring it up for edu-ma-cation.

The aluminum driveshaft also affects the numbers slightly. It's pretty basic -- it takes less effort to spin the lighter driveshaft, so there is less drivetrain loss, which translates to higher numbers. Not a huge difference, but another 2-3% counts (probably 6-10whp).
