I think people are talking apples and oranges to some extent here. Having owned the car for over four years, I've either ready or experienced first hand what works and what doesn't. I'm not extrapolating something that happened on another car and applying it to this car. With that said, a drop in K&N filter actually lost power, ever so slight, on dyno runs. If you're keeping the stock airbox, save your money and use a regular Motorcraft filter. Ford designed a very good enclosed intake. The only way you make more power is by switching to an open element design.

Axle backs are only for sound. If that's all you're going for, have at it. The JLT or Airraid sound great too.

Totally agree. I like the fact that I can run my car on a brand new filter every 20k and then throw it away and put in another brand new one and not have to worry about if i washed my filter properly or not... I don't care that they can "go" a million miles on a filter. its dirty. Period.

If Steeda had a no tune required intake, I would be all over it, but I'm leaning towards the Airaid.

didn't they recently add one? or rather a restrictor for their intake so that you don't have to run a tune?

Yes they did but it's for the v8 not the v6.
