Automatic to Manual
I can buy a MT82 Manual transmission for my 3.7 v6 2014 Mustang for 800$ but what do I need to buy to make everything compatible I know I need to install a clutch and cable. Do I need a new ECU? Not sure

yes, my understanding is you need a bunch of electronics to go with it, not easy to do . . . I think there are some other threads on here with discussion and details around this, try the "search" (top right) and hopefully you can find them. Remember to search from "the top" because there are several sub-forums where this might be.

You'll also be dropping the value of the car, although being a '14 v6 perhaps that's not saying much. IDK, though, this market today... Also there's possibly legal issues involved in your state, you need to check. I'm sure there's not, but... I mean, New York just passed a new code where nobody can swap out stock mufflers anymore, so yeah. States have weird rules.
Overall, unless you're used to doing this sort of thing, or the car's otherwise worthless and it's just a project you'd like to play with, it would be a *far* better idea to get another car that's already got a manual in it. Sell this one and get the right one you want to have. But I ain't yer boss, so you do you, you do what you want/need to do, and that'll do! Hope that helps, and welcome to the forums!

Trade the car on one with a Manual, I know of 1 person that did it but the site he was on is no longer a viable site so all his directions are gone.
It needs new computer, wiring harnesses and all the crap for the clutch and shifter. Not very feasible unless you have a donor car for all the parts.

if you can sell the automatic car now, you can get real good money for it; and if you can wait until the bubble bursts to buy the "new" manual car, you could come out way ahead

Agreed for the reasons posted.. it would be far more practical to just sell your current car and then purchase an S197 which already has a manual.
