anyone put GT mufflers on their v6?

Is it even worth it or just a waste of time?

If you aren't wanting anything crazy loud, just to let it breathe a little better and have a low budget go for it.....otherwise, yes it's a waste of time.

I had some for about 10 minutes on my car....just a little bit louder/lower tone than stock, and that's it.

Isn't the inlet pipe diameter smaller on the V6 mufflers than on the GT versions?

Some guy on AllFordMustangs put GT500 mufflers on his V6. Sounded pretty good, and cheaper than most of the fancy V6-specific parts.

I put dual exhaust on my 2010 V6 along with used a pair of GT mufflers. It made quite a difference. Just putting one GT muffler on before converting to duals made it sound outrageous. It actually quieted down some after I put the duals on.

You still have the 4.0 under the hood right? May not have been the fastest engines but with a good setup i always thought they sounded pretty good

I think the pipe diameter is different. It won't be a bolt on change.

V6=2.25" pipe
GT/GT500=2.75" pipe

Cut and weld deal but pretty easy for any muffler shop.

Size depends on the year which is why I was able to put a GT muffler on my V6 exhaust.

I have a 2012 V6. How is the match on a 2012 GT500?

Okay fine, keep forgetting this forum includes 2010.

Those sizes listed are for 2011 and later V6 and GT/GT500.
