X or H pipe
I'm wanting to get rid of the stock H-pipe and go with and off-road X or an H pipe, in other words I want to delete the cats but I haven't heard the difference between an H and an X pipe. Does anyone happen to have any sound clips of a newer GT with GT-500 axle backs and the off road X and H pipes. I Like the deeper throatier muscle car sound more then the raspy sound so I'm thinking H pipe. By the way I'm looking at the JBA set up.

The sound is throaty on mine and burbles. It is a little loud under acceleration. But again, it is a convertible.

forgot to add. The cheapest and best fitment were the Jegs cat delete pipes. There were some issues with the driver side and we had to use some force to eliminate an exhaust leak but overall fitment was good. That is if you wanted to keep stock h pipe and just remove catatlytic

A Man Just Needs Some....
I haven't heard of much more than 3-5 hp difference. The H pipe sounds so much better that 5 hp isn't worth my car sounding like crap.
BTW, I have a X-pipe on mine and hate it. Unfortunately there's not many options for the cobras.

That's about right. Lethal has a Youtube clip showing their X only gets 3 more HP and 4 TQ then their H.

Well I guess I made my choice, I found a BBK off-road X-pipe with Cat delete pipes welded on so there is 2 less places for exhaust leaks. I got it for a really good price so all I have to do now is install it, I do have another question though. With the tuner what do I need to do to it since I'm deleting the cats?

The exact numbers would depend on other mods. I saw an article in HR Magazine where they proved the X was better than the H. It seemed like it was at least 15 HP difference for their test car that was putting down about 400 HP and even more torque gain. Doubtful if the new cars like the 5.0 with better exhausts would make that much improvement.

I'm running JBA long tubes w high flow cats H pipe and gt500 axle backs, it sounds awesome!
Search for "revving my 2012 5.0 w JBA long tubes" you should be able to find my video

That's about the difference I have heard and I totally agree with your pick.
H pipe all the way. I went with the Boss302 H-pipe/side exit along with the GT500 mufflers and it's exactly what I wanted.
