Winter wheels and tires?
Winter wheels and tires?
Ok...I might be moving back to the f-ing mid west for job related stuff. I've grown attached to the lack of snow here in FL. So... Any suggestions on what to do in the winter time? I'm probably going to just buy a daily driver SUV for me and my wife to share, but I don't know yet. Should I look into winter rims and tires if I plan on taking it out at all during the winter?

They make a tremendous difference. Tread for handling snow plus a rubber compound made for cold temps makes a huge difference.
I just did my first winter here in southern oregon with the mustang. We don't always get snow but this year we had a few days where it actually stuck, and one where the streets were snowy and icy... Driving was fine in the mustang as long as I took it slow. I wasn't so much worried about me, as I was other drivers (saw 3 accidents on my way to work because fools don't know how to drive their big *** trucks and slammed into the car in front of them). I'm still on the stock P-Zeros - I'll be swapping them out this summer with new rims so I can have both summer and winter tires.
That's not the worst part though, it's how DIRTY the poor car gets driving in the bad weather... I was out there in freezing weather with my hose in my water heater instead of the faucet once as I won't take my car anywhere but my driveway for cleaning...
I must have spent 2 hours and multiple fresh buckets so as to keep the dirt away... I need to do a full detail in a month, but.... all my patience and hard work was a success, no damage, no swirls, car looks great still
I'm sure Missouri will have tougher winters than here.... I'd get a beater - I'm considering it for next year where I live.
