Who makes the best tune?
Hi,
Which company makes the best tune? I am planning on a JLT cold air intake which requires a tune and I am looking for the best performance I can get out of it. I have read that BAMA had problems at first have they fixed them? Or is Seeda better? Or SVE? Have I missed someone I should consider?
Thanks
Jack

Everyone has a different opinion on tuners. I'm currently running a VMP tune and it is awesome. You really can't go wrong with any of the big name tuners like AED, VMP, Lund, Mike Rousch, Steeda, etc... Each tuner seems to specialize in certain setups. VMP for TVS blowers, Mike Rousch for automatic cars, Steeda for bolt ons, etc... I would contact someone and see who you feel comfortable working with.

I am going with an AED tune after some break-in miles. From my various forum research, they have the best reputation for the 5.0 coyote. Are you manual or auto trans?

For a manual Lund or AED would be two excellent choices. For an auto Mike Rousch or VMP.
The one to stay clear of is Bama for many reasons. One is the don't know how to turn off torque management. Another is the cam timing isn't changed which is where you make safe reliable power. Ant their tunes have to much timing in them.

I'm actually running a Steeda CAI and tune, from the research I did Steeda has a better CAI due to the velocity stack in the inlet and it also uses the factory ram air snorkel and I have had zero problems with water intrusion from the heat vents in the hood. And you get free tunes for life.

Mike Rousch at Mid Atlantic Performance works magic with Coyote Automatics. I tried SCT canned tunes and Bama tunes before turning to Mike Rousch, and would never go back to them.

For every Bama tune we ask you 19 questions about your modifications, style of driving etc.. so that we can write you a safe and reliable tune! You'll notice huge gains in power, torque, acceleration, drive ability, gas mileage and much more. Our Bama tunes have always been very popular and reliable but we did just revamp the entire line of tunes. I've personally tested our new stuff and was very impressed.
Make sure you keep Bama in mind when looking to tune your Mustang! You won't be disappointed. We also offer free tunes for life. Anytime you want to make some new modifications, datalog, revisions or just want to try a new tune! Make sure you hit them up and they'll gladly hook you up.
Our Bama Performance tuning specialists are here in the building Monday-Friday from 9AM-5:30PM EST and Saturday 9AM-5:30PM EST. You can hit them up directly at 888.226.9764 and they'll get you squared away!
Hope this helps! Let me know if I can be of any assistance.

I'd love your honest opinion. Even if you absolutely hate it, that's fine. I just don't think that will be the case.. Our tune is perfectly safe and delivers great power. We don't run run any more timing than anyone else listed in this thread.
Please let me know what I can do for you. I'd be happy to speak with you via PM about this as well.
I don't like seeing any customer upset or steering people away from us. I honestly think you'd be impressed if you try our most recent Bama tune!

Well, if this isn't a loaded thread topic. Ha ha ha ha. I certainly don't have a 5.0 but based on reading various mustang forums and speaking with some hardcore 5.0 enthusiasts, Lund and AED are favorites. I personally run Bama tunes and love them but I also have a 3.7 and perhaps the 5.0's respond different. Good luck deciding.

Asking the best is a tough question ...
If you are looking for a powerful & safe tune ... I would have to say we are pretty close to the top.
We have higher standards when it comes to longevity & durability. Our tunes must make it through the warranty period when used in our dealer serialized cars, so we have to make sure we are not doing something that will compromise the long term durability of the vehicle.
Best Regards,
TJ

There's a ton of great Tuning companies out there. I think you'll be happy with any of the companies that have been listed in this thread. However, I think Bama is perfect for you.

I see you're still upset with Bama. However, to my knowledge you've still never ran a Bama tune. I'm sorry that you feel this way and I wish there was something I could do to change your mind. I've already offered to provide you with a free tune to try (that offer still stands), what else can I do for you?
I'd love your honest opinion. Even if you absolutely hate it, that's fine. I just don't think that will be the case.. Our tune is perfectly safe and delivers great power. We don't run run any more timing than anyone else listed in this thread.

Two questions and then we can take it a little deeper if you wish.
How deep do you guys go into your cam timing? We both know it's untouched.
Do you guys have the ability to turn off torque management via the clutch protection? We both also know you do not.
These are just a couple of things the average guy doesn't know about but should. Again we can get deeper if you wish. I'll even post up some logs for people to show how unsafe your tunes are. I'll await your answers.

BAMA is awful from what I've heard about the CS, and the logs are awful/pathetic/unsafe... steer way clear of them.

HA HA
Yes, it is.
""IF" I do any upgrades, Lund is more than likely going to be my guy followed closely by Justin at VMP.
UNLESS,.....I keep all Roush upgrades, then in that case,....it will be Roush.
