What are your 5.0 Dyno Numbers with Intake Only

I am curious to know which intakes are providing the most power with the 5.0.

When I dyno'd my car, after having the engine replaced, I installed the C&L intake with the no-tune required insert.

Stock: 355 rwhp
C&L Intake: 370 rwhp

I picked up 15 rwhp with just the C&L intake. What did yours pick up?

Were those dyno runs done on the same day? 15rwhp seems pretty unlikely for that no-tune intake..

I ran an airaid intake and gained 15 rwhp but i really did not feel it in my seat of pants. Then took out insert and added Lund tune and holy ****! Car is like a rocket. Gained 30rwhp with both tune and intake.

Steeda CAI and a BBR tune = 400 rwhp.

Just got done dyno testing mine w/ steeda cai w/ tune, and 3" cat-back exhaust w/ no resonators or mufflers, 91 octane and got 390 @ the wheels. Factor that as a 10-15% driveline loss and I'm sitting around 430-448 horse power at the flywheel. So i'd say a pretty good improvement over the advertised 412 hp at the flywheel. Any body got a closer number for drivline loss on the 6 speed? Steeda cai defininetaly rocks!
- note- that was a 4th gear pull. the guys dyno maxed out on a 5th gear pull before peak power could be made.

Whats the diff in ratings between a 4th and 5th gear dyno pull for the 2011 GT?

This morning mine did 365 hp on a stock setup (gt500 axle back exhaust as the only mod) on 91 Octane.

We then through on the Steeda 91 Octane tune and got 389.3 hp. This is with stock intake as well.

Both pulls were in 4th.

Apparently from what I've been reading on other forums, there's a huge debate on whether getting the transmission to 1:1 gear ratio, which would be 5th for us. But this also may depend on what dyno your on. I don't squat about first hand, the guy that was doing the dyno pulls said it doesn't matter on his dynojet. I still don't know wheter on not there would've been a difference in calculated power. In 5th, mine went over the mph limiter they had set, at that point it was at 382 and still climbing so.... might have actually the same either way.

Nice pull by the way, what were your environmental specs? Altittude, humidity, temp?

I'm in Toronto (don't know the altitude), it was about 65F and it was very foggy outside so fairly humid, but nothing crazy like florida humidity

Is that a full exhaust from them? Headers all the way back?

No headers, but everything else from cat back. Ghost cam tune also.

All types of dyno's read different. A dynopack will read the highest by far alomost 15%, then a dyno jet (usally what most people go by) then Dyno dynamic or mustang dyno which read way low. So a 410 hp dyno pack car at really makes way less HP than a 400 hp dyno dynamic car. As long as no correction factors are used. The dynos need constant callibration and you need to see or ask if correction factors where used during you dyno session.

Correct me if I am wrong but I thought our motors will not run good with an aftermarket intake and the stock tune. I always thought an aftermarket tune was required to run a CAI.

not exactly. Most CAI will not require a tune. the ones that do require a tune are largely due to a different MAF tube size. they have to tell the computer that there will be a different amount of air flowing through than what was programmed already.
However, that is not saying that all the others that dont require a tune will not be complemented nicely with a tune. make sense?

Ah ok, I get it now. Thanks
