You can disagree all you want but when you make a claim like that back it up. And not on a dyno with the hood open and a giant fan blowing on it.

Well that is how 99% of dyno runs are done.... Hood open and fan blowing.

Just out of curiosity, why do you think fans are blowing on the engine when it's on a dyno?

It mimics normal driving conditions... or at least trying to.

lol, sorry. Grabber does know his stuff, the whole CAI is more opinion based than anything... I feel. lol

A CAI will net more HP but its completely dependent on the tune, its not a lot (5-8 HP) which isn't too bad. N/A cars won't see as big of a gain as F/I do. My buddy swapped to a JLT CAI for his roush and gained 30+HP and that was using the same tuner.

The same argument goes for headers as well, many aren't will to spend 750-1500USD on a set of headers and mid pipe for around 20-30HP just like someone isn't willing to spend 250-400 on a CAI for (5-8 HP). With an 8MB ECM these parts are heavily dependent on the tuner. That's why I say get a dyno tune or a tune where you can datalog, this is why we sell VMP tunes.

Maybe, but probably not.

Jay has your back and that's enough for me to know that you aren't an idiot.

...but then again

You do have a valid point that the cars weakest point is the suspension set up and that it's pointless to add power until you address the traction.

The only problem with that is the fact that the majority of mustang owners are having fun on the street, not around a racetrack, therefore adding horsepower is the most rewarding upgrade (instant, tangible results).

That being said, the modifications I've listed are the most widely used, bang for your buck upgrades you can buy. I do this for a living. Sure, I know there are people that know more than me about cars, but I can guarantee I have seen hundreds, if not thousands of cars on a dyno firsthand with these modifications, and they make more power than the ones without. Just sayin...

Another positive post by scottmach. It must suck to be you. I could be wrong, but the majority of your posts I have read are sarcastic remarks to other members. No need for that. Most of us come to these forums to share info and learn new things. But there are some who feel the need to feed their ego and try to belittle people in a vain attempt to appear superior. Im sure you have a lot of good things to share if you wanted to.

When people make blank statements without any real testing they should expect to be called out. Period. I've been an innovator with many builds throughout the years including the 1st to do a Whipple build on a Mach 1. So when I state things it's not from internet reading it's from actual testing and reporting of my finds.

yeah, was a beast. LS6 heads, 6 liters of displacement, and a pretty mild cam. Made 400/400. Very close to the Coyote in power actually. Redline of 6500, and very torquey.

Motivated my heavy GTO to a 13.0@109 in a 3800lb car. stock and a 12.4@119 on street tires after bolt ons and a mild cam. Made 411 at the rear wheels.

Obviously good for 11's, but I'm no racer.
