![Question](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
I purchased a tune, tuner and CAI from Steeda for my 2012 Mustang 5.0 6M. I am happy with their tune but a friend of mine recommended that I try a Brenspeed email tune. He said that I'd gain more HP so I decided to go for it!
I downloaded the latest driver and software from SCT's website and I plugged in my tuner and ran the software.
I'm getting a " Unable to unlock device" and a " Unable to connect to device"
Can someone help me? I'm suppose to be racing a 5.0 auto tomorrow.

Are you saying that you bricked your car? Or that the tuner just won't connect to your car? Did you return your car back to stock before trying? And have you called SCT? You might wanna see what they have to say before doing anything else.

I had a similar issue. Make sure all your drivers are up to date. And definitely call sct for help, their tech support is great. More than likely they will build you a recovery file if it is bricked. Its a real easy fix if you get them on the phone. Its even easier if you've saved a copy of your stock tune file to you computer as well as the tune you bought. Let us know how it works out for you.

I think this is an update issue, as klisetron suggested. Visit SCT's page and update the hell out of it. You'll need to update the device firmware, the software on your computer and the tune revision file. I think that should do the trick.
If that doesn't work, call SCT!![Smile](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Let us know how you make out.

I talked with sct when I had my problem. They say you don't have to, its just HIGHLY recommended. At any rate, give em a call its sounds like you'll need their assistance with your particular problem. I was able to get mine fixed in 30-60 mins with them making a recovery file. Also your other tunes you got won't be on there any more, just contact who you bought em from and ask for another. Whoever it was should be pretty understanding and hook you up.
