What can I add to get better traction on street tires? Lower control arms and ????? Will

More info is needed then. When are you losing traction, during launch? If so, what RPM are you launching at? Wheel spin or wheel hop?

I have the same problem. No wheel hop, just crazy wheel spin from the 2-3k rpm range during launch. I have 295 nitto invos.

If I launch below 3k I spin and bog. That's a horrible combo.

I have been wondering about tires to. I have the GT500 forged rims with the stock 285 Goodyear Supercar F1's. And they suck... I can spin everywhere.

Im wanting some more hook as well.

Any advice on a better tire thats not a drag radial?

if you wanna hook outa the hole....... you need a drag radial... or to use less FOOT on the gas till the tires you have can handle the power / torque level after you shift 2 second

A set of lower control arms and relocation brackets will help. Before that I would spin like it was wet out. It'll still spin but it hooks a lot easier now. I have Goodyear Eagle Supercar F1 285/35/19 rear. I had Nitto 555's prior to these and they hooked a lot better with the brackets and arms.

Drag Radials, lower tire pressure (20-25PSI), lower and upper control arms, lower suspension, and finally if all else fails, a good old sand bag in the trunk.

But if you want to start with the easiest, start with radials, lower tire pressure and weight in the back. Then start adding the suspension pieces and you should be able to remove the weight.

I'm gonna order a couple suspension parts then an extra set of rims with radials if the parts don't help.

Im not talking about wanting to completely hook up, just hook better. The supercar tires are worthless.

Same here with 275 Falken F452's. However, after a nice little 5 second burnout. They hook ALOT better but still not "good"

You guys with decent tires that still can't hook need to rethink the launch. Your obviously being much to aggressive with the clutch. I have an auto and the car transfers so well at the hit it will only spin occasionally at the top of first. When you shock the drivetrain it doesn't allow the car to transfer the weight to the rear and then you just spin. Try leaving about 1500-1800 and feather in the throttle as you release the clutch. I promise you will get faster launches.

I could be launching wrong I normally leave at 3k and just rev to there an when time to go I drop the clutch. If I drop under 3k it spins a little then bogs. So what your saying is I should work the clutch and leave around 2? Not just dump the feather it.

Dump it and spin every single time. That's too much power to street tires

You guys need to transfer that power to the ground and possibly upgrade your tires.

The control arms will definitely keep your back end planted for a straight launch. Here is a quick video that we did:

Let me know if I can help with pricing or answer any questions?

Best Regards,

TJ

Can you kinda explain a good way to launch and how much should I heat up my street tires?
