Tires with SVT TP wheels
Will be getting the 19" SVT PP wheels shortly and was wondering what size tires to go with. I'm keeping the Continental DW extreme 255/40's for the front. Running 275/40's rear with RTR wheels right now. Since the offset of the RTR's is 31, i cannot keep those tires with the new Ford wheels which have an offset of 51. Trying to get some more rubber out back. Looked at a few different applications like going with 285/35's which keeps me in spec with diameter and sidewall height but not wide enough to my taste. Thing is i want to get 295/35's but they are not available with Continental tires and very hard to come by in that size with most tires manufacturers.
Of course i don't want to have to change all four tires, so i'm wondering if anybody has one of the above tire size set up installed on his 'Stang and could provide specifically some rear photos of the rear tires. I'm concerned that with 285/35's, it won't fill in the wheelwell properly. That's why i badly need some pics of actual member's car.
Thx guys.

why not the Conti's you have now in the 305/30/19 size
you're going to have a 10 inch rim so it should fit fine, 285's on a 10 inch rim look too narrow
you have the tuner to compensate for the small difference in circumference, ~3% smaller
$270 from tirerack

Having a litle bit of a hard time following this.
You are getting 4 SVTPP front wheels as those are the 19" size?
Why is it that you say the 275/40's won't work on the rear? The different offset shouldn't make any difference to that.
The other question is, if you have 19x9.5 RTR's now, why change to the SVTPP wheels?

Why does it matter why he's changing his wheels? Perhaps he prefers the design of the SVT PP wheels? Perhaps he's after a wheel with the correct rear offset, thus eliminating the "stuck out too far" look of the RTR rear wheels?

Here is a site i found: i'm more than 3% in diameter too fast. I'm most worried about looks than revs per mile which i can adjust with my XCT3 programmer.

Actually, the SVT PP wheels offered through Ford Racing aren't exactly the same wheels available on the GT500. The aftermarket wheels are available in 19x9" front and 19x10" rear.

Well, in a 19" tire, the 285/35/19 is the only tire that will maintain the correct height compared with the 255/40 front, a 305/30/19 is enough shorter that you could tell the difference between them pretty readily.

I'm looking at getting the same wheels, and I've settled on 255/40's in front and 285/35s in the rear. You could go to 265/35 on the front and 305/30 in the rear and have the same overall diameter.

i think a 305 tire on a 10"wheel is too much, i would need at leat a 10.5 " wheel.

A 295/35/19 would be perfect for your front 255/40/19's. Only tire a 295/35/19 is avail in is BFG's G-Force T/A KDW NT. If you want to stay with the Conti's you would need to run a 265/30/19 in front and the 295/30/19 in the rear. Either way you would need to purchase four new tires.
