I have a 2011 automatic with the Roush phase 3 setup with a custom tune from JDM; 550 rwhp / 481 TQ . It's plenty enough power for the street ; especially for a 62 yr old to play with.

Regarding the OP's original query, it sounds as if his goals are well within the safe operating range of the Coyote.

I've been thinking along the same lines as far as wanting around 500hp or so at the wheels. I use my '14 GT as a more-or-less daily driver (depending on the weather), and it looks like the Roush stage 1 would be the way to go for me (although the idea of putting the Paxton unit I saw at Hypermotive in has some appeal- simply because Paxtons were found on the early Mustangs, and I'm a gen 1 fan at heart ).

What I'd like to find is someplace with "A-Z" service (ideally, I want to purchase the kit and have it installed and tuned all at the same place). Are there such shops, and- if so- what is someone looking at cost wise for the stage one, install, and tune? I'm guessing around $8k out the door?

Thanks for any info. I do a bit of wrenching (mostly on my '65), but this would not be something I'd have any interest in even attempting on my own!

If I'm not mistaking it looks like your an hour or less from Brenspeeds Texas branch. Brenspeed has the reputation as one of the better Mustang shops in the country. If I were closer (I'm about 4+ hours away from them) that would be were I would have gotten everything done.

Thanks for the tip! According to MapQuest, the Brenspeed Texas location is 41 miles from my house (ironically, just a few miles from the shop that painted my '65 coupe).

Gotta love the DFW area! Vorshlag (a company that does a lot of suspension R&D on Mustangs) is only 20 miles from my house as well. Looks like its time to go for a tour and start setting the budget!

I have an e mail tune from Brenspeed and love it. I can't imagine what a dyno tune would feel like.

Your goals are well within the safe operating limits of the Coyote. It truly is all about the tune, 600RWHP is actually a good HP range for the stock block. All things considered, its the tune the will determine the life of your block.

Let us know if we can help, the TVS install you can honestly do in your garage with basic hand tools (minus the front engine cover). Take your time with the install and you'll be good to go!

Can you define "pretty simple?" I mean, I've installed exhausts, replaced A/C components, suspensions, etc.- but have no knowledge of how to wrench on anything under the valve covers. If all that is involved is removing and hanging parts- followed by the install of a tune- I can handle that... beyond that and I'll need to take it to a professional.

Its straight forward, if you can read the instructions then you can do the work. There is one part you have to splice in a wire which can possibly be tedious but its really simple work just a long process that you'll want to take your time on so you don't mess it up.

I had never done anything more then swapping exhaust and simple stuff and i managed to do it and the car started up the first time. You dont have to mess with anything under the valve covers minus replacing the spark plugs.

I don't think on the 13-14 model years you have to do any modifications to the timing cover but on my 2011 i had to cut some aluminum off to make room for the new belt route. which wasn't difficult just tedious work in tight work areas.

Thanks rmurer!

Sounds like a project I might be able to complete myself (how cool would that be)... I've replaced pretty much every component on my '65 Mustang at one point or another- so this should be doable.

I'm assuming the supercharger comes with a tune which you upload after the installation of the hardware?

If I do the work myself, this may be a project that gets bumped from next year to this Spring!

I'm assuming the install of a Roush vs. a VMP (or any other) supercharger would be similar?

It will make enough power to spit the rods out (which is the limit for most people). It has a better intercooler than anything else out there by a mile so it will make more power more of the time. And if a person wanted to start with the Stage I kit and collect the rest of the parts themselves they can be all in for as little as $3600-3700. Or if someone wants a complete bolt on kit they can do it for about $4800.

All the power and OEM like reliability for less money.

HOLY SH--, ok, that IS a big deal. Most kits are $6k or more!! Its about time someone came out with a blower that was affordable!!

Sorry I have not been on this forum for awhile pretty straight forward install except for the transmission lines you just have to bend them.

Here is my install link I would highly recommend it.
Have you purchased a SC yet?
