Started vortech install

You have any questions, feel free to ask. BTW, are you doing injectors and plugs? If so, stop what you are doing and do the plugs and injectors first
(Wish someone had told me that)

I'm just breaking it down, getting prepped for install right now.
Seems pretty straight forward, 47lb injectors going in and the plugs I'm leaving in cause I only have 8000 k's on the motor.... I thought about gapping them to .32 but I won't be seeing much track time....not until I do the clutch and drive shaft.
I picked up a vmp fuel booster to.
The only thing I don't like about the kit is the supplied clamps the pics have shown, why wouldn't they supply t-clamps....mmmmm

Congrats on coming to the dark side. Reminds me so much of when I started my build. The wait was agony, the teardown fun.
I suggest still switching plugs. I should have done mine from the get go. For FI, one degree colder for full burn is essential.
As for the oil separator, I don't see why not. Again, something I should have done from the get go.

I'm in the middle of my vortech install as well! I'll be sure to post if I hit any snags or anything
One thing I see right now is the lack of clearance around the head unit pulley. That large wire bundle needs to be moved a long ways, then need to figure out where to secure it to.
If anyone has a good pic of what they did that would be awesome!

What other components if any are you including with the project?

Vortech BAP. All other supporting mods were done over last winter.
I did spring for the t-bolt clamps, seems like everyone recommends them over the worm clamps

You can use the breather with it installed. I would suggest getting the aluminum coolant tank and I went with the T-bolt clamps and have never had a problem with hoses blowing. Install is not that bad. My son and I did it over the weekend and took our time.
Tron, instructions explain what to do with that wiring to get it out of the way. The BAP is about as easy of an install as there is. We are super pleased with our setup. Makes awesome power (more than we thought) and the car drives better than it did NA. Lund did an incredible job tuning

Another few things to note:
This may just apply to the 8 rib setup since it's .28" thicker but I had to slot the upper radiator mounts and move the top of the radiator as far forward as I could to have barely enough room.
The instructions show the throttle body rotated 180 from the stock location but if you have a boss IM the motor/connector side of the throttle body actually faces downward.
Did anyone have to modify the driver side lower coolant hose? It's right in the way of the charge pipe that comes up right there

The driver side, we had removed the lower hose and when we went back on with it, we rotated our coolant hose to get everything to have plenty of room. It took some trial and error, but we got it to fit perfect once we orientated it right. We actually tried to reverse it at first, but after studying the photo's we got it perfect.

Yup, you were right I see it now that I looked again. It is the last step of the cooling systems mod section. It just says to flip the hose around end for end, no pictures
