Sport mode
It will tighten up the steering a bit. And will allow a bit more freedom while driving in a more spirited fashion.
Basically, it will allow more wheel spin, and more sliding before AdvanceTrac kicks in and tries to stabilize the car.

Wheel hop is a possibility any time the tires are spinning. As for the sport mode....it is a blast. I took the better amount of two lanes worth of pavement today when there was nothing around to bother me. I figured the control would take over sooner but I was at a pretty good angle with nothing but fun happening.
Also try the "all off" mode. Hold the brake pedal, and hold the button for about 5-8 seconds. That releases you for full fun and you can skid all over the place so be careful....

Also in case others don't know... For sport mode you don't have to be at a stop to initiate it. Say you're going 55 mph you can ever so slightly just touch the brake and double tap the traction control and this too will put you in sport mode.
Turning Advnace Trac off (the 8 second hold) you have to be at a full stop.

Sport Mode is ADDICTIVE! Steering feels so tight, like you can corner on rails. I'm not using much in winter, but can't wait till spring/summer. Almost wish I could put this mode on as default!
Good info to know, thanks. I had thought you had to be at a stop to do it.

that activates the flux capacitor.
Seems some are aware, but maybe not everyone.... so:
Sport mode turns traction control off, raises the limits of the stability control and weights up the steering some.
Holding the button down with the foot on the brake turns the AdvanceTrac completely off, every bit of it. No traction control *or* stability control at all. My preference as I tend to correct quicker than the car, and they it tries and I get a double whammy that can make things more than a little interesting (basically an overcorrection). I don't recommend this setting unless you have a good idea what you are doing and have experience with cars sliding around in general.
FWIW, I often drive around with everything on. The limits aren't terribly low, not like my Dad's RAV4 for instance.
Only when I'm "driving" do I tend to mess with it. In town, on the highway, etc, I just leave it all on most often... then I skip to all off.
