Selectable power steering

Selectable power steering
So with the 2012 having 3 modes for power steering. Has anyone looked or figured out a way to integrate it into a 2011? Maybe a new ecu or power control module to accept the new features and a new power steering motor maybe.

It's not directly selectable like in the 2012s, but when you activate advancertrac sport mode the wheel resistance firms up like sport mode on the 2012s.
Hold brake & double tap your traction control button.
Or completely disable advance trac by holding brake & traction control button for 5 seconds or so. (Whilst stopped) it'll firm up the steering as well. (Be careful, all the nannies are gone in this mode)

Completely disabled is what I prefer. With my NT05 tires I have not had nearly the traction problems I had with the factory P-Zeros.

Off topic, but does anyone know if the steering is selectable in the '11 F150? I'm getting a new company truck in a month and a friend was telling me he can steer his '10 by breathing on it. I like a bit more feel...

Having a '12 and switching between 'normal' and 'sport'(or whatever the hell they're called), I wouldn't waste my money if I were you. You don't get any increased feedback-which is what they shoulda done in 'Sport' mode.

Nope. The F-150's never been about steering feel. You'll get used to it eventually, though.

Selectable steering and Advancetrac have nothing in common.
The Advancetrac makes adjustments to throttle, braking and the traction control system to make corrections related to the yaw, the car sliding through a turn etc. It doesn't control anything related to the steering.
The new Mustangs have electronic power steering. Old school enthusiasts complain that the EPS setups feel arcade like because they require little effort to turn the wheel. Some prefer the feel of an older hydraulic system or in some case no power steering at all. The selectable power steering allows the driver to select different modes which essentially change the amount of effort they have to put on the wheel to steer the vehicle.
