Roush axleback without resonators?
Roush axleback without resonators?
My current exhaust is just Roush axlebacks but I want just a tad bit more loudness. I've been debating getting the resonators removed as I think this would open it up a tiny bit more but not make it obnoxious or have extreme drone like a o/r midpipe would. Anyone have that setup and when you removed the resonators did you lose the sound of the roushs with resonators?
I never took off my resonators when I was running the Roush AB but almost everything I read about this said not to do it. I think everyone was saying they got too raspy. The general consensus seems to be that the Roush AB sounds the best with the rest of the exhaust system left stock.

I personally never took off my resonators, but I have a friend who did. The exhaust is a lot louder than with the resonators, especially on a cold start. I prefer my roush with the resonators on. But it depends on what you are going for, if you like more raspy sound as well as a lot louder, I say go for it!
I'm replacing my resonators with these: http://www.jegs.com/i/Dynomax/289/24250/10002/-1
Hoping it increases volume just a hair on my GT500 quads, but keeps it deep and smooth. Picking up a 2.5' section of 2.75" stainless pipe to cut in half and fill in the rest of the gap on each side with those race mufflers.
