ready for a tune
wonder if i can get 3 people to agree on a tuner for my 2012 gt 6mt! tough decision even after reading a ton of posts! My car is a daily driver that is stock except for suspension and other goodies, just looking for some nice extra grunt leaving the stock air box ( i have a k&n drop in and gt500 a/b res delete otherwise stock)

Who ever you go with... Just make sure that they are a company that will support you 100% should you have some sort of problems. All cars react different to mail order tunes.
If you do go with a mail order tune, I can say that I use Steeda and have had 0 problems. I also know that should one arise Steeda will stand behind there product. If you go with custom tune then you need to research the shop doing the work.

Another vote for Steeda. Good amount of power gain up top while being safe and reliable.
Why keep the stock air box in? You'll get more of a gain with a CAI, plus it looks great under the hood and makes the car sound louder and better at higher RPM.
I love the metalic rasp mine adds. When I rev match on a downshift over 4000RPM it makes it sound like a race car.

Had the procal tune done couple years back. It was very first mod I did to the car, with gt500ab and k&n filter. I remember being so excited.
I vote against preload tunes. Mine will be done professionally at the shop, all the inputs n outputs properly measured.

Good choice.
Steeda will not bring you to the edge of the motors power band but you will feel a difference, and most important of all.....BE A SAFE TUNE that they will stand behind.
Report back after you install and get the full feeling of the new tune.

I would get a differnet cai bc they are having issues with fuel trim when i had the drop in k&n air filter amd their inlet tube and idk why but just save yohrself the headache!! They made me return eveythung to stock so idk what they see now

i really just want to get the tune but everyone keeps telling me to get the intake also,how much of difference will there be in the tune alone or with the intake combo?renee are you saying leave the stock intake or get it?

I'm sure the Steeda would work well
I have a BAMA tune with the Steeda intake and it also is very good. I've run the Performance tune and the Race tune at the track and a bit on the street. Both are great
The race tune is what I prefer for the track, and I've put about 400 road course miles (6 hours or so) on thus far. Zero issues, runs strong through a 30 minute session which is all between 4000-7200 rpm.

Please don't tell me all these after market companies whose parts I have installed are not telling me the truth.
On a serious note. the factory air box is very plain look wise. But dose work very well.

plus there is something to be said about the 101mm MAF. And the intake noises!! Stock air box isn't bad at all, but between the huge MAF and a filter whose square area is almost 2x stock it's hard to argue to stay stock if you're tuning.
