I'm inclined to agree. What's more impressive?

Look what my car can do!

or

Look what I can do!

no i believe you are correct.

check out this pic and look close. there are those little holes on the bumper.
I believe those are sensors correct?

and i checked the options on this car and check the last option.
i believe its suppose to beep if you get too close to something but i may be wrong.

I saw on another forum that someone added on the factory spoiler with the camera that also had the factory nav system. According to the post while the plug was there the camera would not activate. One of the options on the Sync LockPick is to add a camera, so that would likely work to get the factory one to activate.

Those are there to give an audible alert when you're backing up. The closer you get to an object the faster the beeps get.

I'd want to use it if my car had it. Last time I tried parallel parking I drove into my aunt's car. I used rubbing compound & it fixed mine right up. I just literally can't judge my distances now. I maybe can, just don't want to chance it. It'd sure making pulling into my handi-capped spots easier. The 1's that are spaced this way.

Can I add that audible alert? That'd help a lot!! Thanks!

I think it's a great idea. Make sure that your insurance company is aware. Perhaps they would give you a break if you could prove you always let the car do it. That would be rad if it were possible. As my mom is getting older and not so sure of herself I think this would be a lifesaver for her. Giver her a bit of confidence, get her outta tha house. Cool idea. But I don't think it fits on a mustang. Leave it for focus and festiva and whatever their suv is called. Jmo

The SUV is the Escape.
Thats cool that the '12 has that as an option. I just bought my '11 so all the options are very fresh in my head...
Assisted parking just makes no sense to me..I shake my head at it like an old man shaking his head at rock 'n' roll music!

I have both the camera and the sensors. Between the two I can accurately back up to something within ~1/2" and not hit it. Makes tight parking maneuvers a lot easier as I know exactly how far I can back up.
