Ordering a MGW - lots of questions!

Installed the MGW 2 nights ago. Got a late start around 8:30 pm and took my time and finished up before 11:00pm. I am very impressed with the entire package. MGW provides everything you need aside from the basic tools that you should already have in your toolbox. All I "needed" to buy was a set of standard racheting box wrenches that make installing the heat shield much easier.
After the install I had to go for a quick test drive at my local "test track". Holy cow was I impressed with this shifter! The feel is very positive and firm without being stiff. Basically this is how Ford should have built the shifter in the first place. Last night I participated in some local "Flash Light Drags" at a local track ( road course had the FLD's on their front straight ) and was able to hammer through the gears without any issues and hung with some strong cars ( approx a 1/6 mile track ) that really should have smoked me, such as a 2009 GT500 ( lost by 1/2 car length ) and a 420 rwhp Coyote with MT's ( lost by 2 lengths which were all out of the hole ). My car is completely stock other than the MGW. I did have a LOT of wheelhop, and that will need to be addressed, but might have to wait until I lower the car and upgrade shocks/struts as I hear that in itself is sometimes enough to make the hop go away.
Anyway, thanks to all for your input. I really appreciate all of it, and HIGHLY recommend anyone looking for a shifter to go straight to MGW.

The install is not that bad, there is a great video on MGW's web site that will give you a good ideal of what is needed to do the job.
I did mine on ramps and it was tight for me, couldn't get my chest past far enough in to reach good. Had to get my son to do the work under the car since he is much thinner that I am.

First I drove the car onto a pair of 2" ramps I threw together, just to get a little more ground clearance for the jack to roll under the car behind the front wheels. I jacked up both sides of the front of the car at the same time since I had 2 floor jacks handy. Removed the saddles from the jacks and put a small block of wood on top so as not to scuff the undercarriage. There is a flat section of the front subframe that runs diagonally from behind the front wheel toward the front center of the car which is safe to use as a lifting point. Jacked up each side in small increments and once the car was high enough I slid a pair of 6-ton jackstands under the front subframe. Then I lowered the jacks until the front end rested on the jackstands and left the jacks in place with some load on them.
The install was pretty easy - just take your time and have the necessary tools on hand and you'll be fine.

What suspension will you be going with? When the time comes, I'll be replacing my stock TP suspension with Koni Sport shocks/struts, Steeda Sport springs, and Steeda HD Strut Mounts. Once that's done I'll see if I need an adjustable panhard bar to center the rear end. Hopefully all that will eliminate my wheel hop problem. I don't want to throw money at rear UCA and LCAs or relocation brackets until I'm sure that's the only solution.

The MGW Shifter is the only Shifter at the present time that is built and designed with the best material and provides solid positive shifting, the big plus is that one can adjust the rotational gate, so you can get the gate lineup dead nuts on! I actually called MGW and stopped at there facility returning from vacation and picked it up! The install isn't exactly easy, but worth the time, because the end result is amazing compared to Stock, or the Hurst I had installed! It takes the guess work out of driving, you can relax and have fun driving a Manual Transmission car! Shame on Ford for not installing this shifter in their Mustangs!

I just want to hop on here and give a compliment to MGW as a company.
I bought my MGW a few months ago, but due to other obligations I hate to wait a couple of months to install it. As i was installing it, I was being dumb and tried to stretch the dust boot around the shifter using a flathead screwdriver and ended up ripping it pretty much in half.
I finished the install without it and called MGW to order a replacement. I explained what i had done and at first they told me it would $10 for a new one, which wasn't a big deal, they verified my shipping information, and then hung up. About 2 minutes later, they called back and told me they'd ship it out immediately and that the shifter was under warranty and everything would be free.
I was taken aback and made sure they knew the dust boot had torn because I was being a dumba**, they said they understood but it was under warranty regardless. MGW not makes a great prodcut, but they're a great company. They've definitely earned my loyalty and business in the future.

p.s. I have both the MGW black and white shift ***** with deluxe jam nuts, plus all the dynamat you could handle

Thanks FromZ - no worries! The MGW makes every shift so much more fun than the stock unit, which is truly awful by comparison. I'd love some Borla S-type axle backs, and will have them at some point. But future mods are on hold at the moment, as I might have found a project car to keep me busy this fall/winter. Fingers crossed!!
