new times for the evo car. 12.04 @ 117
As we all know, all terminators and GT500s are stock. 2010 GT500 is in the 10's with the bolt ons/tune/tires Evo is running. I don't think any killing is going to happen. GT500 will always be a second faster with equal bolt ons. GT just doesn't have the power to weight. The 11' even moreso:
2011 GT500 @ 3800 lbs = 6.90 lbs/hp
2011 GT @ 3600 lbs = 8.73 lbs/hp
Keep in mind a STOCK 10' GT500 with ET Streets is in the mid 11s @ 120. You won't be racing any on street tires at the track.

That's a pretty nice mph so far. Once other shops and vendors get a hold of this car it will get interesting... real tunes, parts specifically made for the 5.0, etc. It may even hit 10's with full bolt on's, spray, suspension and tires (and someone that knows how to drive). I also want to see some real camshaft development.
I'm liking this 2011 5.0 more and more each day as I wait for mine to arrive but I'm a little confused
From what I've read and seen so far this new 5.0 with bolt on's and tune can run with or even beat a 2010 Shelby GT500 with It's 540hp supercharged 5.4.In this motorweek vid of a 2010 GT500 it runs high 12's and only trapped at 112mph.
I realize the 2011 GT at 3603lbs is about 300lb lighter then the Shelby but the trapp speed means that this new GT is underated for sure at 412hp.This looks like terminator 2 the sequel

the GT500 on the test is stock on street tires and evo's 5.0 is modded and has drag radials too, which make a huge difference, with traction the GT500 will still be faster, with the difference between it and the 5.0 opening up more and more as you mod it

If they can get their 60fts in the low 1.6 or even 1.5 range, they can get 11.7's easy or better. It's about the same as alot of realworld stock GT500's. But why would a GT500 owner worry, just do some mods.
I'm a old 5.0 diehard so to see this kind of performance from the new Mustangs is like heaven on earth for me.I'm going to really have some fun with my new 5.0 and not have to break the bank doing it.
I will follow the progress of Evo's 2011's and I'm sure others will develope performance goodies that will keep the pony out front.
Way to go Evo keep it comming
