Lots of talk about what should go on the new intake manifold. Lets take a poll and maybe someone with the power to change things will take it under consideration.

I actually like it the way it is. It IS the Boss 302 intake so I feel it should say so.

Doesn't make your car a fake Boss.

It's a little like the FE engines in the 60's that said "Thunderbird" on the valve covers in models that weren't T-birds.

If they come out with the version for a twin-blade throttle, that should not say Boss 302 though IMO. I'd prefer that blank.

 

Wow! Ford Racing is leading 2 to 1 with 47% of the vote over 5.0's 23%. I would have bet a few bucks it would have been the other way around with Boss 302 coming in a close 3rd. It's not too late for the numbers to change, polls will be open for another 14 days.

 

I had thought it would be rebranded as Ford Racing, but several companies accepting pre-orders have them listed mentioning they still say "Boss 302".

This is not posing by having it say Boss 302. It's a Boss manifold and should be labeled as such.

The Saleen blower isn't rebranded for non-Saleens. Same idea in my opinion.

I would prefer to see Ford Racing, but its the Boss intake, and it will probably say that.

I will not be buying one as will not fit with the strut bar.

 

it will fit the 2010 strut bar. Also I've heard the can change the sig plate. Somebody could make a pretty penny selling customizable sig plates for these things...

 

I think since it is a BOSS piece and in no way implies you are trying to copy the Boss, it should say BOSS 302. I don't think ford is going to recast the manifold just to change the name IMO

Ford racing!! If a wanted a fast and furious ricey looking mustang I would have gotten a boss!! But I didn't so I don't want it's parts on my stang!

 

funny im coming from a acura rsx and i dont see the Boss 302 as Ricey more like a Trams Am race car but time has moved on without me so i could have missed a few memos and years in the mean time Not sure a boss would be the right car for me but i sure as heck like them for what they are !!

It's not ricey it just got cheesy wheels and ugly colors and ugly stripes and ugly body mods...and you pay to much for that garbage but if I was buying a mustang for a race only car it would be a boss but since 85% of the people buying them Arnt even going to race them.....it's an ugly street mustang....looks like a kid came up with the colors and stripes and wheels and wheel color.....I like the performance part of the boss and that's it!

 

I don't find anything about the Boss 302 to scream rice. It's a very vibrant car, but not ricey.

I'd personally like to see Ford Racing on it, but some of the points brought up make sense about leaving it as a Boss 302 badge on top. I think the main reason I'd like to not have it say that is if I pop my hood, I don't want some uninformed person to ask me if I have a debadged Boss 302.
