New Blowfish shifter bracket
I may have posted earlier on here about the Blowfish shifter bracket that I was lucky enough to beta for Steve and I was very happily surprised at how much of a difference the unit made. Finally it has been made available for pre-order/purchase and I just wanted to get the info out to anyone who may still be having issues shifting issues or isn't completely satisfied with their current shifter. http://bossmustangsonline.com/index.php?topic=7918.125 contains info on the piece and it does attach to MGW's and I believe even those running the MGW have said there is an improvement.
EDIT: If looking to purchase this piece it may say that the item is not in stock, don't worry this is a pre-sale and so the item isn't in stock but can be bought.
EDIT: Also adding the list of units/mods it works with.
stock shifter: YES
MGW shifter: YES, but can't use heat shield, if equipped
Barton shifter: YES
Steeda shifter: YES
FRPP shifter: yes
SR Performance shifter: YES
Hurst shifter: yes
don't know of any others out there, but as long as they use the stock shifter box (as all but the MGW do), it will work.
whiteline insert: YES
it will replace any shifter brackets, so none of those work with it.
Also may not be compatible with other DS safety loops, however the unit also doubles as an NHRA safety loop so there is no point in running two.
Thought I would add the pics of the stock setup, the bracket and how it mounts to the stock shifter and to an MGW.

I'm very interested in this mod. I'm looking forward to reading some reviews. I'm wondering if there is an increase in noise. I could care less about vibration or harshness but I like that my car is rattle and clunk free. This mod looks very promising.

Speaking from personal experience I have gotten a little bit of noise, though others have said they have no such issue, I believe my issue is due to pulling the shifter flush with the trans tunnel so I am getting vibration into the center console. I would assume Steve will have some of the beta reviews available on blowfishracing.com once he has some time. I have however had the piece on my car for about 2k miles so I can answer any questions you have about it most likely.

I preordered one and look forward to this. We have done the MGW, whiteline trans bushing, upgraded the clutch line, and removed the helper spring. Our MT82 has performed well and still does, but every once in a while will get a high rpm lockout. Will always trade a little NVH for eliminating lockouts.

I would contact Steve about that however I can completely believe it since the shifter will torque with the trans and everything will stay lined up rather than the trans torque and the shifter stay in place.

How heavy is it? Just curious. I couldn't resist though I just ordered one myself. This bracket just makes sense from a shifter standpoint. Why would anyone design a shifter that's attached to the transmission at the front and to the body in the rear and expect good results?

I added a picture of the final unit, also unfortunately I believe the sale on the bracket is over as all 200 pre-sale items have been sold but the regular price is still 299 which isn't bad.

I was lucky enough to get one ordered within a day of the announcement. I would say that Steve's products are thoroughly engineered and components are extremely high quality. The $299 regular price would not be a waste of money. I really like my MGW......but if this had been out back then? And the shifter was well over $400 when you add a shifter ball and heat shield.
